Well right now I'm going back to college, but I would like to have a "vintage job" on the side. Truth be told I would love to do what Art does as a weekend/side job, but I have no idea how one even goes about apprenticing to be a hat maker/haberdasher.
I tried searching to see if there was a thread on this yet, but I haven't seen it. My apologizes if there already is.
Ever wonder how much your vintage items cost "back then" compared to today? I know I did. Today I received my "new" homburg in the mail. Looking under the sweat band I found...
Nice Mythosaur skull Helysoune. When I was interested in Star Wars it was because of the game(s) The Knights of the Old Republic (1 and 2). Every time I see that skull I think of Canderous Ordo, and his great stories lol.
This is a bit :offtopic:, but do most of you think a homburg should only be worn as formal wear? I just got mine in the mail today, and wore it around, and most people I talked to thought it was just a new fedora lol.
I was always taught by my parents that self defense, or defense of someone weaker (be they a woman, child, or a weaker guy in need who is being attacked unjustly) is the only reason to fight. I'm pretty sure that's also the only excuse that the courts will accept.
Someone takes a swing at me...
I find the idea of Twitter to be completely annoying. I'm just to private of a man I guess. If you want to know what I'm doing call me so I can hear your voice at the very least. I hate using text, and usually I find out what my friends have been up to by sitting in front of them with a few...
I wish I had a vintage Bowler, but 7 1/2's seem to be rare for that era.:eusa_doh: I don't know how much of an opportunity I'd have to wear one anyways, but none the less I like the look of em.
:offtopic: My general view on death can best be stated by John Wayne's in his final role in the movie The Shootist. Although not a word for word quote it goes something like this:
Gillom Rogers (Ron Howard): You've killed 30 men! Your a legend! No one is better then you!
J.B. Books (John...
Yes, IMHO Easter and Passover are religious holidays first and foremost. That's what they started as. They have been secularized in certain parts of our culture, but not at the same level as Christmas. Both (especially Passover for the Jews) are still by and large a religious event. If you don't...
It's a family affair. I hunt, my father hunts, both of my Grandfather's hunted (may they RIP), as did their fathers, and for all I know their fathers, fathers. It seems to be in our families blood ;).
Well it wouldn't be hard (expensive maybe but not hard) to make a white mask that has an outer coat with black liquid in between two pieces of plastic. Getting the black liquid to move around though, well that would be a bit more difficult.
Ah the Rorschach hat very nice. Always a classic.
Maybe, I just don't have enough interest in pop culture, but I really have no idea who he is. Although I have heard of his girlfriend before.
I was born in 85, so I was a child of the late 80's early 90's which meant I played with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ;). I also played the first Nintendo console the NES when I was a boy, trying to help Mario save his Princess, and Link save Zelda from the evil Gannon.
I also played with/made...
I'm around Lewis County. I know where Forestport is, it's south from us. We hunt mostly in Indian River, and up in Watson around the Stillwater Reservoir, more commonly known as Number Four around here. Every know and then we hit the Big Moose River/Road. I've been offered by a few friends to...
I have been attempting to get down the Vintage Hunting look for awhile now. I need to find a "cheap" felt hat though, that someone would have worn into the great outdoors. Especially up here in the Adirondacks.
