Their seems to be a copy at the Reagan Library made by Stetson for $185 dollars. I'm not sure if its an exact copy or not, but it seems to be [huh].
I'd like his style of hat myself.
There is a possible business opportunity of an entrepreneurial engineer.
Is that so? On Jeremy Brett's Sherlock Holmes, Holmes's wears a top hat often, and not only as formal wear. Sometimes he'd be wearing it just to walk down the street, or to track down someone. Sometimes first thing in the...
:offtopic: I've always wanted to see someone grow a Hercule Poirot style mustache. If I saw someone on the street wearing one, I'd probably walk right over, and shake their hand, and congratulate them.
I know your pain. My ex always said she didn't like me with any facial hair. Granted she...
So do you guys only wear your Homburg when you dress full vintage/formal, or do any of you guys try to mix it in with your more vintage casual/ modern looks?
Well I am sorry to hear this obviously (I admire all men and women who at least attempt to rise above the boredom of what's normal in "fashion" today), I can understand your pain. Most of us who choose a different article of clothing whether its going a complete vintage look, or just wearing a...
Good catch Rick, I had my eye on that one, but this weekend has been busy (one of my friends bachelor party) and I forgot all about it. You'll have to show us what it looks like :eusa_clap.
Yup, that's him. The Royal Family, George W. Bush, and other "elites". I saw him on Penn and Teller's Bullshit one day when he was talking about UFO abductions.
I'm reading Rex Stout's Fer-De-Lance right now. After that I'll probably hit another Poirot novel. I'm also reading Human Action by...
lol I don't have fine china. That idea came from a Sherlock Holmes episode/story actually. "The Illustrious Client", were the "bad guy" of the story besides "collecting women", is also a collector and expert on Chinese Pottery. That is to say pottery of the first century, and the like. Like one...
Wonderful hat :eusa_clap. You'll have to show us how it looks! I'm looking for one for the Fourth of July (Independence Day here in the States). I'd also wear to a few political functions from time to time ;), which is another tradition of the boater here besides barber quartets, and actual boat...
That's pretty amazing. I didn't know there was such a big market for dolls. To each their own though. I hope whoever buys it enjoys it. I guess it would be something you would display? Kind of like fine china, something you never use, but show off.

Stetson Medalist Straw Hat ~ Large ½ Oval
Nice one here IMHO. Wish I'd of bid on it, but I was a bit busy this weekend. Anyone here get it?
Agatha Christie's Poirot: I watch all the time.
Sherlock Holmes: The Jeremy Brett classic. Again I watch all the time
House: Probably one of my favorite new shows.
Monk: Watching the dysfunctional detective can always be fun.
Beverly Hillbillies: Classic "rural" comedy.
Gunsmoke: It's...
For a quick look at "the 50's" I'd look at classical tv programs, and movies from that time period. I'd (personally) also take some cues from the Nero Wolfe mystery series which is also set in the late 40's early 50's.
