I agree so to, but obviously someone in the past has bought it for that much. Either that or the seller things someone will pay the much for it. That's the way prices work. I remember my first economics class. "What thinks cost depend on three variables. How rare it is. How many uses it has. And...
I was going to be named Luke according to my mother, but there was already someone a bit older then me with my last name (no relation) named Luke so I was named Tyler instead (my nickname in real life is Tiller as well).
If I was going to change it to an old fashion name I'd probably pick...
Well since the misses has no problem with it go for it! Will you also have a hat on outdoors?
The best of luck to you, and I hope you have a long happy marriage :eusa_clap . Don't forget the pics for your friendly neighborhood Fedora Loungers to admire ;) .
IMHO the best way to deal with this is give them a history lesson on hats. Explain how your hat is different from the one designed for IJ and then continue on about the style IJ was attempting to emulate, and the style your hat is. Follow up with some details on the ribbon of your hat compared...
I beg your pardon, maybe I'm having some late forming symptoms of dyslexia, but I thought your wrote "all the hundred dollar bills under the lining!"
Sadly around here I am the youngest (23) individual who is into vintage that I know of. I'd love to see some kids pick up the style. Sadly though the whole goth and punk theme seems to be competing against the "gangsta" look in the 13-19 age group. With a few preppy kids to mix in, and a few...
I think you and Skeet are two of my heroes on the board! I love the idea of putting it to the "nonconformist" conformist, and doing exactly what you want when you want. With my generation is the turned flat ball cap to the side look, so you look like a duck is coming out of your skull, well...
IMO museums/tailors should have a few examples of a certain time period. Besides that though clothing holds no value if it isn't being warn by a person. It may last longer sitting in a box, but it was made and designed to be warn and used, and for me that is it's purpose.
Take care of it...
Agatha Christie's Poirot
Since it seems I'm not the only fan of this wonderful series, and the most famous Belgian detective I figured we should discus it :). I just got done watching Death on the Nile. Great story! Only thing I'm confused on is the character of Timothy Allerton. Is his...
Since the topic is up I was wondering what character most of your guys identified with in the film? For me it was Rorschach, which makes me wonder if I should be getting psychoanalyzed, but I do love the character, and the fact that he refused to accept the false utopia preferring instead to die...
Yes, I saw it. The Chocolate Box. I really felt for the guy when he meets her again, he puts his hand on the vase lapel looks up at her and says something like, "I was just telling your husband he was always the luckiest of men."
And of course she named her second son after him. I loved the...
Environmental? Without a doubt no. Cultural? That seems to be the word that fits best for me at least. I think most of us are conserving a style, and the culture that goes along with it. Even though it maybe a bit more idealized then it ever truly was when our parents, and grandparents lived...
Is the character of Hercule Poirot's famous flower vase lapel pin vintage? Did most men of the time wear one, or is it just another aspect of his eccentric character?
Amazing Mojito it looks great on you :eusa_clap. I always wondered what one would look like on a guy, and what hat would be appropriate. I think in the 20's it had a connection with twenty-something gentlemen in colleges, as far as men go?
