Thanks Bolthead and also GWD and Handlebar Bart w/o the handlebar.

Same to you and all the Brothers of the Lid.

Though Jesus is the reason for the season, I'll also relay a Happy Bunny Day wish from an up and coming Akubra Carbon Grey...

I appreciate the sentiment to enjoy a holiday,
but feel uncomfortable hearing about the personal
beliefs of others, particularly in a forum on hats.

I know there is a social aspect here, but I assert that
if I were to post about atheism, zoroastrianism, or paganism,
it would not be appreciated or considered germane.

I already don't understand why people put their very personal beliefs
in their signatures here, and I note that people complained when I did so.
Happy holidays, but let's stick to hats. I mean no offense, just asking that
we stay on topic and off of strongly held, personal, and controversial issues
not related to hats. I'm sure everyone meant well, but surely there's a chrisitan
site or the Observation Bar or some other place to discuss such personal issues?
I hope everyone is welcome to discuss hats here.

Ok then.....

I guess Jesus wore a hat of sorts, but other than that I
can't tell what this is doing here and never got the memo
that this became a christian site.

Given that this is Easter and Passover and neither to
many, how about if we stick to hats? This might seem
spoil-sport to some, but it's just keeping to the forum's
theme - many of us aren't christian and don't feel the need
to remind you. We come here to talk hats.

I mean no offense to christians, but this content does make me uncomfortable.
.....post your Easter Bonnets right here, instead of the "What are you wearing today" thread.

Does that make you feel more comfortable? [huh]

PS. Forgive my ignorance fellas.

I did change my post, and was about to go back
and remove it entirely and let it go, but now I can't.
Bartenders are free to do so.

But for now I will simply say that this is just the sort
of lack of sensitivity to non-christians that I am objecting to.
I would like to hope this is a place where all can feel comfortable
posting about hats without necessarily agreeing with the "fellas"
about anything else. I'm not sure if ridiculing the beliefs of
others is christian, and I hope people of all beliefs can just stick
to hats, as I will from now on and hope others will as well.

Handlebar bart,

This is a beautiful hat! I will be celebrating Easter in a recently purchase Art Fawcett fedora: Mojave with a wine ribbon. Unfortunately I do not have a picture handy. Happy Easter! John

Yep. If ya came here after seeing the thread title, and you don't like the program...change the channel.
Certainly no offense towards anyone was meant. Soon it will be "Happy Spring" to be PC anyway.

To keep this Easter bonnet related, I will be wearing my Fed IV Moonie tomorrow (don't mean to piss off a Moonie by typing that).

Yes, IMHO Easter and Passover are religious holidays first and foremost. That's what they started as. They have been secularized in certain parts of our culture, but not at the same level as Christmas. Both (especially Passover for the Jews) are still by and large a religious event. If you don't like the religious aspects of it, don't celebrate the holiday, or at the very least don't complain to the people who started the holiday because they celebrate it the traditional way. Easter started as a Christian Holiday, the Rabbit came later on to sell chocolates. I think their is plenty of room for all of us to express our views, without trying to silent the other side on the issue.

I don't see a reason to be overly sensitive about the simple facts, and history of two Holidays that correspond around the same time period.

That said I'm going to be wearing by dark chocolate brown Dobb's "Gilded Edge" (at least I think that's what it's called lol) tomorrow, and will be hoping and praying that all Loungers from the most devout Christian, to the most dedicated Atheist, and the most observant Jews enjoy there day with their friends, and families, and having a wonderful Easter, and Passover season.
