Did you ask him why he was dressed like everyone else? Or, if you really wanted to mess with him you should have said "How come you're doing the "masses" look? Don't you get bored copying everyone else?"
Hard saying. I liked fedoras when I was a child, and at the age of 23 I still like them, and I've grown to appreciate the time periods they dominated. Depends on the culture in ten years, and his personality. He seems to be a pretty independent kid though.
The kids got a bit of a steampunk thing going there. Depending on how popular the subculture becomes in the next ten years he could become quite the little trend setter.
Well sorry to hear a good portion of the FL didn't like the film. I enjoyed it, although I wasn't expecting a documentary, nor was I expecting a film that could compete with Citizen Kane. I'll be buying it on DVD when it comes out. I give it a four out of five. A good film to watch, enjoy, and...
I wonder is this based on American Mcgee's Alice, or is it just Burton's own "twist" on the classic, that just has parallels to the game (maybe not quite macabre as the game though).
I'm kind of interested exactly when they are going to set Indy V. During the Cuban Missile Crisis? The early stages of Vietnam? Fighting commies in East Germany well looking for something left over from the Nazi era? Who is left to fight?
Although not completely unheard of it is a bit odd, atleast to me for someone in that social class. Hell my Grandfather on my fathers side died at 53 well I was at the ripe old age of four, but you don't think a celebrity would go like that. You'd think a man with that kind of money, would have...
I was a child in the 80's, and I'd say the above was true for me as well. The only difference us when I said hello to one of my friends parents, or someone else it usually went something like.....
Me: "Hello Mr. Bruce."
Joe Bruce: "Please, Mr. Bruce was my father. Call me Joe."
Me: "Ok. Hi...
That makes sense. I can't see "Bruno/Borat" doing a Jeremy Brett version of Holmes. I wonder if it's a remake of The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother. According to Cohen's IMD it is simply "Untitled Sherlock Holmes Project" which is coming out in 2011.
I agree with this one, at my age if you carry around a cane you basically get called a pimp. Which is the reason I haven't been able to buy one (besides a Shillelagh I have).
That's a bit of an interesting statement, considered the entire hippie movement did the same thing "Don't trust anyone over 30". I always find it interesting how annoyed some of those old hippies can get when younger people reject their ideals (Not saying your an old hippie but I've seen it...
One of the few good things about being born 40-50 years (depending on when you consider the Golden Age to actually be) after the Golden Age is that I didn't have to live through Woodstock and the 60's-70's. I don't see a return to hippidom, and honestly even if there is a small resurgence I see...
I'm not going to bash the movie, especially since it doesn't come out until Christmas eve. I'm honestly just happy that they are making a Holmes movie, so I'll wait till I actually see the thing before I start complaining or praising.
That said the traditional murder mystery movie, seems to...
