Looks OK...
I'm not a fan of that kind of ribbon treatment. Appears to have a welted brim edge. I haven't seen one of those in person. Miller Hats has a real extensive line of Biltmores in all shapes and sizes. I've been to their store and never seen the Cavalier style.
Fan but no expert...
Biltmores are adequate hats, generally of above average off the shelf quality. They are relatively inexpensive, which appeals to me. A new one costs around $100. That's the extent of my expertise regarding the brand.
I own a couple, wouldn't hesitate to buy another...
When I lived in Maryland...
...and I left the house with my zipper down in the winter, I would be reminded by the blast of icy air. Here in Southeast Texas it's been 'round 70 during the day.
My criteria for a fur felt fedora...
1. It must be relatively inexpensive.
2. I have to be able to try them on and feel it, unless it's from a reputable vendor.
3. Vintage, schmintage...give me a working hat that someone else didn't sweat in. I'd hate to come down with a case of 40...
Scissors first, then a beard trimmer, finally Barbosol and a Trac II.
It was about two and a half inches long. I was getting tired of eating it and tired of my wife saying "wipe your mouth", after every bite of food.
It was quite magnificent, sort of a Saddam Husein/Tom Selleck thing...
Shaved off my Cowboy 'stache...
...the other day. My kids went into shock. "Mom, there's a strange man in the bathroom!"
My upper lip is quite cold today...
I was dressed in a gray turtleneck, dark trousers, gray herringbone wool sports jacket and my gray herringbone B! Wear 8 1/4 cap, when I entered a donut shop last Sunday morning before church. My mission, to purchase some donuts and Kolaches for my family to sate their hunger before services...
That's why I don't spend too much money on a hat. $150 max, Wear it for a year or so and if it don't hold up, get another. The way I wear hats and caps, I could not see spending a fortune on one.
Oooh Raaah, Devil Dog!
Good night Chesty Puller, wherever you are...
Prepare to mount....
Mount!
This is my rifle, there are many like it, but this one is mine...
Left, right, left...
...oh, the sweet memories...
