Well most of it is told from the policeman's pov, but the actual plot with the girl being murdered, blackmail and a wrong man accused seem right out of noir to me.

Mystery Street is an excellent film, and one of the earliest films for Director John Sturges ( The Magnificent Seven, The Great Escape, Ice Station Zebra) and photographed by the amazing John Alton. It is included in Warner's Film Noir Classic Collection Vol. 4.

I don't particularly have a problem with the story or even the neon special effects. I'm a huge ELO fan so the music is awesome. It was also fantastic to see Gene Kelly dancing again. (best scene in the movie)

Both "It Came From Outer Space" and "The Creature From The Black Lagoon" were VERY good films and use the 3D with restraint. Both films were directed by Jack Arnold, and he used 3D as a story telling tool rather than just poking you in the eye every 5 min.

Its a public domain release, but they say they are coming from the original 35mm elements. If the quality is as good as MGM's DVD release, it should look fantastic.
