Terry - sorry I'm so slow in getting back to you! I would love to take you up on your offer of help but I don't live anywhere near you unfortunately! We ordered the Shaker style door in the end - that was the style I felt would suit our home and wouldn't date (despite some people saying they...
Snowtown - Disturbing (and slightly uneven) portrayal of the Snowtown Murders - quite grim but we were thankfully spared a gorefest which it so easily could have been. Excellent performances from all involved - particularly from Daniel Henshall as John Bunting and Lucas Pittaway as Jamie...
I used to hang our damp clothes on our living room curtain rail - that is until it fell down - our clothes used to dry in jig time as the sun comes directly into our living room for most of the day. The rail is still on the floor behind the sofa and will probably remain there until we move out...
Psycho (how I wanted Janet Leigh to live!)
Camille
And nearly forgetting Betty Blue (37°2 le matin)- the ending is just tragic and so heart-wrenching......
Some works by two of my favourite Irish painters:
A Convent Garden, Brittany, c.1913 by William John Leech (1881-1968) - his use of light and colour in his paintings is sublime:
And pretty much anything by John Lavery - his paintings of his beautiful wife Hazel Lavery are among my...
Mike - I was only in NY last year but we were still in the bidding process for our home - in fact we were putting in our offer waiting to go through immigration! Would love to go on a home shopping spree in the USA - when I see all the beautiful things Loungers have found in Thrift and Goodwill...
Touch of Evil - Yes, I agree - it is sacrilege! Only today (why do I do this to myself?!) on the same show someone bought a Victorian house which had all it's lovely Victorian features torn out some stage in the 50's but the beautiful lead glass hall door remained - all it needed was a little...
Initially my attention to drawn to the book by the recently released movie version but there is no way I would be able to sit through the movie - it sounds too brutal and excessively violent for my viewing tastes.
And thanks for the tip - I will keep my eye out for him.
I get that some people are not even vaguely interested in period features etc. and that's ok but how I wish they wouldn't buy any houses pre-1950's! If I could make that happen I would be very, very happy indeed!;)
Last night I watched Who Do You Think You Are? with Gwyneth Paltrow - really...
My Mum has one of those rain bonnets - nothing as cool as what's on that website though - a clear one that she wears when she's gotten her hair done. I don't think she likes it much - it's more for practical wear than anything.
That's a lovely compliment LinaSofia - thank you! :) I'm looking forward to seeing all your fabulous new finds!
I had to laugh when I saw the tag from the last outfit I posted "Sportempos has that Suburbia Look!" - I'm not sure what that is supposed to mean but it made me smile anyway!
