I agree - Swank's performance was bordering on creepy - she just can't do Femme Fatale. I found Johansson's turn a bit OTT - particularly in the scene at the gym where she swans in with her cigarette holder - it was all too full on.
That's so true!
I really have to wonder about people who think it's more than fine to wear yoga pants in a restaurant - I seriously can't get my head around it....
Black Dahlia - Terrible, terrible movie - an incomprehensible and plodding plot, hammy/poor acting (in particular the robotic Josh Hartnett), the film seemed to jump all over the place and at the beginning I found the dialogue so hard to follow. I began reading the book by James Ellroy some...
Miss Sis - that dress is gorgeous - I love the detail at the waist!
Athena - Welcome to the FL! Those are two honeys - the black one is so chic - you'll have it forever!
I was thinking that might be the case - it's really not too girly a colour. I have an amber coloured dressing table set that I was going to put in our bedroom but the more I look at this one the more I'm thinking it might work better - we'll have to see when our room is complete - nice to have...
Out for dinner the other week wearing a 60's olive green silk mix wiggle dress and white coat & gloves, the hostess came over and asked if our meal was to our liking, so I said it was delicious and she said "I had to say it to you - you look gorgeous - so glamourous! I was only thinking how...
Thanks KatieSparkles! It's in very good condition for its age - one small chip on the inside of one of the lids so you won't be able to see it. I think the shape and colour of the set is quite unusual.
One Day in September - Incredible documentary regarding the hostage taking at the Munich olympics - I had seen it when it was first released but found it still as horrible and shocking the second time around.
Olive Bleu - thank you! I have no idea what the coat is made from - just waiting for it to arrive. I think it might be wool or wool mix but I think that it should be a light enough coat - nice for Spring evenings!
I Adore Film Noir - Apparently the coat does have a silky lining in pink - it's...

His painting of Samuel Beckett:
I did see it and didn't think much of it. I knew the film-makers would have a field day with the myriad of bad taste jokes that can be made about pregnancy - really not my thing at all.
Also, having the rather one dimensional Katherine Heigel in the lead didn't really add to the cinematic...
Thanks for that! Beautiful doors (my sister in law has just chosen something similar but new) and that was one of the styles I was thinking about. The shaker style is what we finally decided on and they should be installed in a few weeks time. Will post photos once we move in!
Thanks again...
I know! All the critics were raving about it and it got so much column space - apart from the gross scenes at the beginning it just became so average - we all knew how it would pan out - nothing would set it apart from a million other romcoms bar the revolting scenes at the dress shop. Just...
Bridesmaids - Ended up watching this as the movies available in our hotel in Berlin were pretty limited - wasn't as coarse as I thought it was going to be (some scenes were rather gross) - some funny moments but overall standard RomCom fare.
The Rite - only so-so.
