Having grown up during the '60s, I'm probably biased but I thoroughly enjoyed Pirate Radio...that was the second viewing for me.
Just watched Letters from Iwo Jima again. Excellent film.
Just finished re-watching The Pacific, followed by Letters from Iwo Jima, so now I'm reading Eugene Sledge's With The Old Breed at Peleliu and Okinawa.
12 degrees, wet and very windy...you sure knew it was Fall today! Some of the trees are changing colour already. It's a pretty awful evening for today's Nuit Blanche event here.
I'm with you on Longmire...been watching it from the beginning. It won me over the moment they played Steve Earle's Transcendental Blues over the opening credits in episode 1! The new season's on netflix, which I don't get, so I'll have to wait for it to trickle down to one of the stations us...

I also just found a copy of Goodis' Shoot the Piano Player. This one is in the line up.

Tough to choose, but I'd certainly include Key Largo , Treasure of Sierra Madre and The Caine Mutiny, but I'd also include the one film that no one ever seems to mention.... We're No Angels. A 22-year old may enjoy the last film. It's a good natured comedy and it's in colour. Bogart was...
Today, Queen Elizabeth II became the longest reigning English monarch. Yesterday, she matched Queen Victoria's record. Today, she passed it. History in the making.
