Thanks!!! I am actually fairly petite ( 5'3), but I have a long torso, so 1920's 1930's styles work the best for me, as well as 1960's little mini dresses and shifts. Generally stuff from the 1950's-1940's dosn't work so well for me, a lot of it ends up being too big somewhere or another.
I like dita von tease, she has a ton of class. I also think you do as well Pidgeontoe. Like I said, my sister did the whole rockabilly thing, she looked ausome. Like I said before, its not so much people in general, its more the models on the pages like stop starring, I think the models on...
Me too! I spent the evening last night, eating a whole pizza, trying not to open this thread.....the word 'diet' scares me, unless it has the word 'chocolate' in front of it.
I think it is great that other things besides clothing are being discussed in this thread, It gets a girls mind working beyond what shoes to buy or what makeup to put on her face. Being a Stay at home mom or being a working mom is something totally relevent today,as it was back in the golden age.
If you read my post it was not against pinup or rockabiliy, I am fine with both of them, so sorry if you thought that. My sister is totally rockabilly. Like I said I have no problems with the looks, or the people at wearing the, so please read that in my post before you take offense.
Thanks Pidgeon Toe--I will check them out. I am really not into stop starring and websites like that, The clothing is somewhat cute, but it is so gosh darn Rockabilly, All of the models look like they are trying to be Bette Page or some other pinup model. I was just talking about this with my...
I thought it would be a swell idea if anyone has anything they would like to trade with anyone else that we could have an online clothing swap, I have a couple of pieces that I want to give to good homes. Anyone else want to do this? I would rather trade my items on here then bring it to some...
I suppose you could use the jars for anything you like. My guess is they might have housed cotton balls, qutips, which were invented in the 1920's, or they could have housed creams or powders. I have a set from the 1920's made from what I believe is Catalan.
Love your clothing, jitterbug doll!
The thirties to me is the most elegant decade in the 20th century. Please gals, most more pics, I wanna see!
Here is a pic of me in late 30's
Moi in 1920's
I wear a lot of everyday vintage like everyday clothing, so if something wears out I generally just take that as something normally happens with clothing. Most of of my vintage does not just sit in a closet, so a bathing suit is going to be used. If it shrivels up, I'll just buy another.
None of these threads really concern what I am interested in. I was wondering about orginal bathing suits from the 1940's/1930's if not wool, I am not interested in repos. So if anyone if could let me know anything they know about non-repo bathing suits.
