Good move Andykev. I like skeet and trap, but far prefer sporting clays over the others. Likewise I prefer a nice brimmed hat for shooting, I like the litefelt beaver majormoore made me, it is now my favorite.
What is your preferred shotgun. Mine is the O/U Beretta 687 Silver Pigeon...
Well I certainly thank God I don't live in the city. I like being someplace where I can essentially go hiking when I step out the back door, where I can shoot my gun in the backyard and where we can go a short distance and camp out. I like to hear the animals and birds. If I could I'd live...
The fedora that many of us love had its heyday in that period of the 20's-50's. However most men until some early point in the 20th century wore a hat. Almost no men were w/o a hat for everyday wear. Those styles evolved over time, but almost every man wore one. I think that was the point...
I can say I strive to follow the below quote by TR everyday.
The biggest critics are usually the ones who are too afraid to step on the field. I admire those who will and care little of those who don't or won't and yet criticize every decision of those who do. Take a stand, live your life...
Thanks for the pics. As I sit and look out at 100 degree heat index weather, I long so for the fall, my favorite time of year. Wearing light coats and walking fields with dogs bird hunting, shooting clays w/o drowning in sweat, and most of all wearing my fur felt hats everyday.
Rest, take care and get to feeling better.
Art, as much as it pains me to say as a sometimes smoker, at some point it may be best to quit and be done with it.
You are much more important to your family, and this community I'm sure, than your hats. Work on the hats or do whatever you can do at...
So I guess I shall fulfill my obligations to stand up for my Tennessee sippin' whiskey's, Jack Daniel's and George Dickel. They are Tennessee whiskeys not Bourbon as my friend from Kentucky will attest. I had lunch with Bill Samuel's in May and enjoyed a fine glass of Maker's Mark.
Both...
That Adventurer is a lot wider than the old Fed in the brim which was 2 7/8 and 2 3/4 if your measurements are correctly stated.
The Morgan is not really new, many on FL have it and ther eis an entire thread somewhere dedicated to FL members adventurers.
Personally I think I will now...
Men were on average slimmer back then. Most men who are slim or have slim faces do best with a stingy to a medium size brim. Rarely do they look good in a wide brim. In my opinion a wide brim, say over 2 1/2 or so on a slender faced guy looks dorky. There are always exceptions, but fuller...
They are talking about size shrinkage. However, crowns will shrink, but usually not inn height, but in what we call taper. The sides will come in on it till it looks pointier than it did originally. Actually they were pointy before they were blocked so they are trying to return to their...
