    Valkyrie

And I was expecting a film about the XB-70. ;)

    Could you survive?

Maybe I'd be an adviser to FDR. I'd tell him to keep an eye on those Japanese and that Hitler fellow. Don't let that Chaplin mustache fool you, Mr. President!

    The Philadelphia Experiment

Katharine Hepburn was great in it, too.

Dobbs Brown Homburg 7-5/8 reg oval

The hat is sold. I hope Fletch wears it in good health. Thanks, everybody who was interested.

"Mad Men" on AMC (US) - (Spoilers Within)

I enjoyed it, even though I found myself nit-picking the props a little. Black Western Electric 500 desk phones still had black metal dials in 1960, and so on. Apart from the nit-picks, they did a great job capturing the atmosphere. One funny thing was, everybody was smoking like a...

    The Car Lives On

Actually, if you find a picture of a 1968 Mustang Fastback, like the one in "Bullitt," you'll really see the parallels with the 2005-present Mustang. Also I like the fact that the current Mustang doesn't actually say "Mustang" anywhere on the outside, unless you get the rocker panel stripe...

    Mack Sennett Studios

Great detective work on Mr. Arnett's part. I notice that page was made in 1999, I wonder what's happened there since. It's just a few blocks south of where I work, I might take a look.

    They've gone too far.

One of the nice things (maybe the only nice thing) about turning 40 was that my sensitive skin became quite a bit less so. When I was younger, I couldn't shave on a muggy day because my face would turn angry red. I can also shave against the grain now. 20 years or so ago I tried that and it...

    They've gone too far.

One showed up here, too. I don't want to try it and get spoiled. Safety razor blades are just so darn cheap.

Dobbs Brown Homburg 7-5/8 reg oval

Gotta thin the herd, starting with the ones that don't fit. This one was advertised as a 7-1/2 with no size tag visible. When I got it home it said 7-5/8 regular oval on the label under the sweat. It's a beauty, the sweatband is soft and supple, the liner is nice and clean as is the rest of...

    From one extreme....

Watch some movies with Alan Hale Sr. (The "Skipper's" dad) for lots of bashing ideas. I have a few hats with that "lived in look" and I love 'em.

    "SUDDENLY" 1954 Sinatra/Hayden SPOILERS

For fans of classic cartoons, you can see veteran voice actor Paul Frees in this movie in a bit part. You've heard him many times, but how often have you seen his face?

    The snap brim homburg

My fuzzy Stetson from the 1920s... It's so soft it can be pretty much any shape.

Do you wear hats because you're balding?

I'll never forget the first time the top of my head got sunburnt and began peeling. It was at the automotive swap meet at Pomona California and I was there picking up a 3.91:1 "Sure Grip" center section for the 8-3/4" rear axle in my Duster. I also dislike intensely when my ears get burned...

It still stands? Great! I'll have to visit if I'm ever there.

They're going to find that out sooner or later, might as well get it over with.

Historians: Past Eras Were Worse Than Now

Also, I think Homer's obsession with donuts clouded his judgment.

    Vintage Phones

Yep, I have a bunch of Henry's 302 phones, as well as his followup design, the WE 500. The WE 500 was the universal desk phone from the 1950s to the 1980s and beyond, and Henry Dreyfuss designed it as well.

    Two Rivals - You choose!

I've always had a soft spot for a Citroen DS "D?©esse" myself. I'd imagine parts and service would be a nightmare, even in Southern California, the oddball car capital of the USA.
