first off kami, you look fantastic!! second, how is the waist? do you think if someone got one that's too SMALL in the waist (but fits elsewhere) it would stretch nicely, or dig in and look horrid? i'm just wondering what kind of shaping is going on inside, if any...
bella, i'm 3 sizes too!
me too! especially since my bathroom sink's stopper is broken, which is where i like to do it.
what really gets me though, is trying to figure out safe, cat-free, flat places to dry my sweaters!
heck, i've had a reduction and STILL wish i was a little smaller! but i will admit the grass has gotten much much greener since the reduction!
:offtopic: texasgirl, keep working on that insurance company, and in the meantime feel free to PM me with any questions - i am overall very happy with...
i noticed that recently!! i have a chair i've been wanting to get reupholstered in barkcloth and wanted to start pricing the project, since it's something i'm gonna have to save for. i did find some sites with repro hawaiian fabrics though, but i'm not on my computer right now so i'll have to...
Amateis, i think it depends on the shape of your foot, but wedges are more comfortable than heeled shoes for me nearly 100% of the time. i trip less too, and they're easy to ride bikes in! :D
red, you're so funny! be sure to make the pic black&white and send me a copy! lol
missS, you're getting really good at setting your hair! this style looks great, and i'm sure you'll nail that movie hairstyle really soon! your eyebrows are a fantastic shape, too. i can't sleep on perm rods...
thanks so much, everyone!!!
and since i'm sure i haven't taken up enough bandwidth with pics of my hair tonight, here's one from before i went out dancing tonight. i created the curls with hotsticks. sadly i didn't leave them in long enough, and most of the curl fell out in the dampness.
getting to know dealers is THE way to get good stuff at fair prices. i would estimate that 80% of my best stuff came from the same person - and most of it never hit the sales floor!
late 40s jantzen sweater
60s sailor pants
willits repro saddle shoes
40s plastic necklace
amazing hairdo i posted elsewhere
this pic is a little weird - i look possessed! "look into my eyyyyyyes..."
today i experimented with rolls, which is generally my worst hairstyle due to my super-thin hair. i used black ankle-socks as rats, which made a HUGE difference! it was super-easy - i just sectioned off my front hair, folded a sock in half, pinned it to one side, teased my hair a little...
thanks for weighing in, everyone!
i talked to my housemate, and as it turns out, the actress who would be wearing my stuff actually has her own. did i mention it's a really small production?! lol
hopefully this discussion will come in handy for someone else though!
no pics for me either! i need to master either the self-timer, or the pictures-in-mirrors thing.
today i wore:
- fully-fashioned light-aqua short-sleeve sweater
- black-and-cream houndstooth 40s skirt with a kickpleat in the front
- cream-and-brown two-tone remix wedgies
- boring hair...
thanks, shortclara! this is good info. i emailed my housemate and am waiting to hear back from her. i'll start thinking about what i would need to get from them should anything get ruined. i got the idea that the clothes wouldn't be worn for long but i'll make sure i know exactly what's...
my housemate is working on a low-budget movie spanning several decades, and the costume people are interested in renting some items from my collection for use in the film. i am considering doing it since i need the money and also because i feel like i should "share the wealth" of my vintage...
