i like the panel van! my dad's HHR is a normal one with windows. he has the smoky blue color, which i think would look kinda cool with the fake wood panels on the sides. he doesn't think too highly of the idea though!
those concept cars are really cool, sarge!!
that's so true. it really takes the thrill out of it - although youtube is nice for watch clips over and over again... my vhs tapes are definitely in poorer quality than they were 8 years ago and many of the clips were crap to begin with.
wait... so why am i whining about the availability of...
we were posting at the same time!!
i'm gonna focus on factory workers for this lesson... i realized anything more would be too much to squeeze in to 10 minutes. thanks for the suggestions!
thanks, lizzie!
that link looks great! when i'm teaching i want to do really in-depth lessons, and something like that would be great. it would be fun to have recordings of all those songs!
i think for this one i'm just going to focus on factory workers since it's only 10 minutes long. i...
meeee tooooo. of course, i'm not buying a car, so it doesn't really matter! the cooper mini is pretty vintage-looking, and gets almost the mileage of a hybrid...
nice organization, kitty! i need to set up a system like that.
i've got stuff stashed EVERYWHERE. i have 3 closets, 2 cupboards (perfect for shoeboxes!) and 4 built-in drawers in my bedroom, but things are STILL a disaster. i need to find ways to make my vintage goodies more accessible, yet...
hello to everyone new! i'm sure i'll see you around the board! :)
 you have no idea how envious i am!!! oh to have someone sew my dresses for me!! lucky gal!
tomorrow in my Music Fundamentals for Elementary Teachers class i am presenting a short lesson. I'm planning a cross-curricular lesson using music to talk about women's roles during WWII. I'm looking for interesting songs that would appeal to 5th graders, so anything novel is GOOD. so far i'm...
i borrowed my dad's HHR for a few days while i was visiting this past december and had a ton of fun driving it! i thought it had great style for a totally practical new car. he loves it as well, and it suits his needs much better than his previous car, a '74 corvette which was always breaking...
bumkins. there are lots of small companies (many are stay-at-home moms) that are making similar ones as well, i'm sure if you googled a bit you could find them. this is the type of thing all the cloth-diapering moms i know use. it's great because you can vary the amount of stuff you put in them...
the family i work for on fridays use cloth diapers and they are great! i've never had a problem with leakage. they have a great system set up so the rinsing and soaking is no problem. i've never felt "ew" about it and she's not even my kid! i feel way more "ew" at my job with the family who uses...
neat pics! i'd love to see more. it's interesting to see such old-fashioned people in (what i see as) such modern-looking environments. that gate is fantastic!!
:offtopic: the American Girls "Samantha" doll has two-tone high-button shoes... but that's for 1904. [huh]
another idea could be to have new members go through a "grace period" of whatever amount of weeks or months before they can start a new thread. the point would be so they could get to know the "culture" of the FL. on some message boards no one minds the constant starting of random new threads...
