patrick_murtha, i started watching closer this weekend but was sidetracked by sleep. seems like a good one, though - i'll have to finish it soon!
other than that, it's been all period films this weekend... on friday night the boyfriend and i saw there will be blood, which was good but way too...
a lot of y'all have said you gravitate toward guys much taller than you, but in my history of dating men, i gravitate toward guys either my height or 2-3 inches taller! my boyfriend is 5'5" so i'm taller than him in most of my shoes! he's used to it though - his ex is 5'9"!

oh, i know! luckily there was a reserve set on it, but a friend tried to sell a WWII-era yellow jumper with brown velvet trim for me.... and it got a single bid. what gives???
aw man, what a shame, kitty! if there was any hope that i could've worn that dress someday, i would have bid on it. i reread the measurements about 18 times hoping they would change ;)
i avoid selling on ebay at all costs. i've been selling lots of stuff on here and to local people for less...
but... but.... NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
i have enough dysfunctional vintage suits (and if anyone wants a pink one it's still available in the classifieds ;)) - the EW is supposed to be useable!!
*leaves thread muttering and shaking head*
it will get away because (a) i just bought a vanity, and (b) it's out of my price range (but still totally affordable at $250!!!) any portlanders want it???
try one of those pet stain cleaners, i heard they work wonders. someone recommended a particular one as a miracle worker for vintage, but i can't remember which. [huh]
yeah, i couldn't pass up the yellow dress!! i usually don't buy stuff to lose weight into anymore, but a friend and i are starting a sugar-free thing soon so we can fit into all our vintage goodies! the prices were so low i shouldn't have any trouble getting the money back if i eventually have...
ya know, DD is the only vintage celebrity i've gotten before! i didn't dare think that i actually look like her though - i love her so i am super-flattered! ;)
i am apalled at how little i paid for it - the seller was on-site and gave me a deal since i knew it wouldn't fit right away!!
i also realized there was another pair of shoes in my total spent, that i forgot to photograph!
great buys, everyone!
i SCORED (EDIT) saturday. keeping in mind that i'm at the upper-end of the vintage size spectrum, i am thrilled. i think i paid about $110 total for everything.
amazing floral-print dress with all the original buttons and kickpleats! i'll have to wear a waist-cinch with...
2 more pairs of shoes and an update on other stuff.... more pics at my flickr! (for those of you unfamiliar with flickr, you can click on a thumbnail, and there should be an icon to show "all sizes" in the upper left corner above the pic so you can see it even bigger.)
