I've started scanning my Sears & Roebuck spring and summer 1938 catalogue.
Hundreds of images of clothing, shoes, underwear, etc, etc, etc.
I havent finished yet and it will take some time to scan all 900 (!) pages.

Wow!

just shows you how little choice we have these days in our homogenized world where every menswear manufacturer sells the same 5 products. When they build a time machine I'm buying the model with the bigest storage compartment and am going shopping at sears in 1938! These clothes are amazing. Thanks for all your effort. If you ever have time a higher resolution image where you can read the text would be perfect.

Note the blousettes for wearing underneath a suit. I don't think I've seen that done before. The 1938 version of a fancy camisole under a suit jacket, perhaps?

I have a few catalogs from the decade and the scandal factor is very low.
