I would go with the anniversary vs the real deal. Having seen both in person I really liked the anniversary aero. Not to say the real deal isn't bad but I just liked the character of that one. On G1s I owned a couple of originals and find the originals so available why would you want to buy a...
Having owned just about every ELC A2 jacket they make (1401, 27752, Star, Monarch, and Cable) and having sold each one of them to buy RMNZ jackets (Roughwear Goatskin, Monarch, and Dubow) I have to say I like the grainy leather of RMNZ much better. Of course nothing beats the Buzz Rickson...
I like the B6 and I have had both the D1 and the B-10. The fit on the B-6 is more tapered than the D-1. I just don't like the B-10 cloth jacket don't know why I just don't. I have owned two of them a RM Japan and a ELC Roughwear and ended up selling both. Really like this RMNZ B-6 fit is...
I would suggest going to Aero's US rep Mark Moye. He is a great guy and can fix you up with the right jacket. His shop so to speak is on ebay and you can see some great photos of all the Aero jackets. The real deal is a great jacket and you will not be disappointed with it. Here is the link to...
Here are a couple of jackets to show you usage. The first is an original Roughwear 18091 jacket. This is a pre-war contract and was issued at least twice and was reissued for the Korea war. The cuffs are replacements. Leather goatskin which holds up well after 60 plus years.
The next...
Going to be in the 90s this week. We always get a last blast of heat in early October then it is flight jacket weather. Can't wait. I got two new RMNZ A2s that need breaking in (Monarch and RW). Need to break the new RMNZ B-6 in but that will have to wait until Dec.
I can't agree with you more. Paddy is fantastic and has worked with me on two jackets (the rest I got off ebay or from jacket buddies). She will get you in the right size no worries.
I take a Eastman 42 and 42 in Aero in A2s. In RMNZ I take 44. I would think you would need a 46 but I would email Paddy at RMNZ and give her the sizes of your current jackets and she can fit you. BTW I have a RMNZ B-6 which is a 46 and fits perfectly. So if you want sheepskin you may have to...
Flying tom
Agree with BT I own four of their jackets (three A2s and a B-6) and they are fantastic jackets. The Few is designed for the Japanese market and hence overpriced in my book. Contact Paddy via the email address on the web site and you will get excellent service. She can provide...
I agree. Even their paper catalog is ok but not like Buzz Rickson. But they do make great jackets. I think a good web designer could have a better site up and running in a matter of days.
This jacket is made by the Aero Leather Company and was made in the 1980s out of buffalo hide and has a red silk lining. It was one of their premier jackets at that time. Condition is excellent. The painting on the back was done by the jacket artist Jerome Urbaniak (the jacket is on his web site...
You are right RMNZ is a bit different from others. For example I am 5 ft 10 in weigh 165 take a 42 R suit jacket and 16.5 /32 shirt. I can wear a size 44 Roughwear and Monarch in RMNZ. I have a 46 Dubow that I got from someone on ebay and it fits a bit larger (but not too large) than the 44...
For you folks that like A-1s this is a beautiful A-1 repro, no tags, correct in almost everyway, hidden patch pockets, satin linning, bi-Weave ribbing no holes, tears, super soft leather, great Patina, color. Size in measurements are, Shoulders, 19" back from under collar, incl. ribbing , 25"...
Yup it is I thought I had too many A2s until I saw the collection posted on here. I have four originals and six repros including three fine examples from your neck of the woods RMNZ (Monarch, Dubow, and Roughwear). I don't feel so bad now. Now to hunt for more jackets....
Gibson and Barnes makes great jackets and are reasonable in their prices. Their customer service is great. I don't know what size you need but there is a goatskin one on ebay right now. Their goatskin A2 is great as well.
