Hey first off welcome aboard. I owned a Star and found it to be the best jacket ELC produced (that was until the new Werber was introduced). I don't have experience with their "house" jacket but I have seen their "house" goatskin which I thought was awesome. I have owned the Monarch which is...
Agree they are plenty of good G-1s out there you could purchase. Even some 422As are available at a fairly good price. I would troll the ebay pages and so what they have first.
No they(RMNZ) don't do art work there. However, I would use this guy

He does excellent work. He can paint on the jacket or make a patch for the jacket. Looking at the picture it appears it could be a leather incised patch. At least that is what my eyeballs...
Ok looked at several photos of Dubows and think it could be one. I really looked hard at the collar and the pocket and pocket flaps. They are part of the key to maker of this jacket. Every maker had some unique touches to their A2. If it is a Dubow then I would save my money and get one from...
Concur with Scotrace. Pecards works wonders. But on new or fairly new repros you should not need it for quite a while. I have used it on my original A2s with great result.
I have really debated on selling this one but when ones closet is full and you just bought two jackets something has to give. RMNZ does not make these anymore. They used the 18091 contract (which was the only RW contract that was all goatskin I know I have an original of that same contract). I...
Marv,
Having purchased and sold a recent ELC Monarch I think the knit problem may have been solved. I have owned other ELC jackets and concur with the knits. The Monarch's knits appear to be better made so perhaps the same with the Werber.
Yes, had someone glue a patch on to them sew it on. When I took the patch off to replace with another patch what a mess. I asked the new tailor I have did he do this. He was amazed someone who does this type of work would do such a thing. In any event my current tailor is excellent and would...
Here is their website which is not very good.

An A2 runs 1300 NZ dollars which is 463 pounds or 894 US. Now as you can see that is expensive. However, they sometimes have a sales rack where you can get new items at reduced prices. For example, I got a brand...
This site will do orders for folks outside of Japan. I have not used them but folks that have rate them top notch. They do have some BR stuff in stock but as usual with BR the larger sizes are hard to get. But if you are a 38 or 40 no problem.

I have seen them first hand and they are pretty good jackets. Give a very good "50 mission" look. But if I had the choice and the money I go with the new ELC Werber. I think it beats the PH ELCs. But let me show some photos of RMNZ Jackets and Buzz to see what you think.
RMNZ Dubow after...
Agree with the others above on getting them wet in the rain that is. I have had success with the hot water treatment but I use it very sparingly most of time on the collars which works well. Don't use Pecards on a new jacket it is not needed.
Having owned all of the Eastman jackets (Roughwear 1401,27752, Cable, Star, and Monarch) I took a 42 in all of these jackets and they fit well. I would be willing to bet I would take a 42 in the Werber also. Check out the Acme Depot for some measurements on Eastman jackets. You can find it...
Check out this link to the Acme depot on reproductions. You can get a look at some of the Eastman A2s.

Having owned Eastman, Aero, Real McCoys New Zealand, and Buzz Rickson. I would say Buzz is the best but hard to get new or even on the...
I would say Aero but perhaps a 27753 but sure looks aero to me. Here is a shot of my buzz aero repro note the pockets. The collar looks just like mine that I got it lay just like his. Cool looking jacket in the photo.
Been kind of cold here in N. CA in the evenings so been wearing my RMNZ B-6 or my new B-15B mod Buzz Rickson which is real nice. During the day it warms enough to wear an A-2. Been rotating my Buzz 21996 and my RMNZ Dubow.
My experience with BR sizes is that their nylon jackets I have to go down a size. I take a 42 in ELC A2s but take a 40 in the BR B-15C and the fit is perfect. I take a 42 in the BR A2s so go figure. If you check out some of the Japanese web sites they provide measurements. Here is a link to...
