This is from the Acme Depot an excellent web site for A2 jacket nuts. Here is the answer to your question.
14. Does Bob Crane wear a vintage A-2 in "Hogan's Heroes," and is it the same jacket as the one worn by Frank Sinatra in "Von Ryan's Express"?
Second question first: Yes, the...
Here is the thread I was looking for. What a nice looking jacket and the original crown zipper he supplied just sets this baby up nicely. Enjoy.

Heck for a little more you can get a real nice horsehide A-2 from Flight Suits. Excellent product you can return it for a refund or another size if it doesn't fit. I highly recommend them. US Authetic is another source and the price if I recall isn't too much more than the 330 on the Wested...
I can't find it right now but I know someone on this site posted pics of the exact jacket you are thinking of getting. You are right it is a good deal. Also those jackets were fairly rare in the ETO. I do recall seeing one in the last six years (an original) on ebay.
Re-looked at the movie and can't tell for sure based on their web site. I do know that Eastman made the jackets for Pearl Harbor and Real McCoys New Zealand made the A2s for the Band of Brothers series. Both make really nice jackets.
This is a good website to get smart on both reproduction...
Tough to tell with an Irvin. I take a 44 in their A2s and a 42 in ELC. It is a rule of thumb to have about 4 inches more than your chest size. So a 44 would work for you if you have a 40 chest like me (they are 22.5 under the armpits or 45 generally I would ask Paddy to be sure).
Had the same thing happen to me on the BR website and others even using the translator. On ebay just use the search term "flight jacket" I know you would come up with a couple. You can also use the search term "real mccoys" and that would pull up some entries as well. I would contact HPA for...
The Real McCoys "Fun Books" as they are called are on ebay right now. I just purchased the latest copy. I saw last years on there not too long ago and may be still available. I too got a BR catalog from HPA.
Both FS and Aero can do custom work. You can work with Aero's USA rep Mark Moye (on ebay to see his shop). Either choice is great. As mentioned by the post above USAuth. can and has done custom work as well. I have seen some examples of it and it is good quality work.
The photo on the post looked just like one I have seen before. Here it is from Flight suits web site:

So did this guy really find a real A2 or a repro or did he find anything???
My fav G-1 is this one made in 1960 one contract only by Brier and Amsterdam. Has an unusual blue lining. Thing was mint like it was never worn. Goatskin is much like that on the WW2 Roughwear 18091 A2 I have thin and real soft. So good G-1s are out there and in your size you will have a...
No luck for me darn it. But I do know a couple of guys that got A2s at thrift stores. I always check them out when I have a chance. Would be a grand day if that happened to me.
The jacket was bought from new RMNZ several years ago after it was returned to NZ as unused wardrobe when they wrapped shooting Band of Brothers. It is a 16159 standard contract label.
Ebay start here. This is a large enough search to get started...
Unless you are a size 40 I think you are out of luck on the BR A2s. This site in Japan will sell overseas and are very good:

But sizes are limited to 40. I have seen some BRs on the secondary market on ebay which is where I got my RW a few years back. Be...
Agree with you all. A little of this stuff goes a long way. I did use a really heavy amount on an original that was really dry and needed it. It bought the jacket back to life. Even required two coats. I would not use it on new jackets they don't need it. It is true it can darken the...
You are about the same size and weight as me....ok I weigh 175. Just for sizing though you would probably take a 44 in RMNZ and a 42 or may be a 40 in ELC. Flight Suits, which I agree makes an excellent product, tends to run large. I would take a 40. I tried their 42 too big and their 38 a...
