Great collection thanks for sharing. Bet those keep you warm!!! Those would be too warm here in Northern California. I can only wear my B-6 on chilly mornings like this (about 34 degree F here now).

Wow great question. Currently, I have 5 original A2s, 7 repro A2s, two G-1s, one 422a, and one repro B-6. So that makes 16. Do I want more? No not right now but you never know.
Sometimes you can pick up some good deals on 422a or 55j14s. I got my 422a for 375 on ebay. Also got a 55j14 for the same price. So you can pick up some good deals on these jackets. You just have to look and wait for the right one.
Agree with you all. Just be sure you get one prior to the decline of the G-1 in the early 1970s. The quality was not there. I have one from 1960 and another from 1972 and the difference is amazing.
OK here we go:
three RMNZ A2s (Dubow, Monarch, Roughwear)
two Buzz Rickson A2s (Roughwear and 21996 (Aero) model)
one Aero repro A2
five original A2s (three Donigers and one Roughwear, and 18246 unknown maker)
four L-2b (Rolen, Blue Anchor, Alpha and one repro Buzz Rickson Tops Apparel...
You can't go wrong with either RMNZ or Eastman. Here is the link to RMNZ
http://www.realmccoys.co.nz/cat02.html
I have their B-6 and did own one of their D-1s and they are some of the finest jackets I have ever seen.
Eastman B-3 is excellent and have seen it first hand. There are used...
Ray,
Yes you are right. Had a FS Historical A2 and it was real soft. Of course the Monarch I got from RMNZ was real soft too but had some grain to it which the FS did not. What is strange is the RMNZ goat I got was a bit stiff while the FS was not. But the RMNZ is breaking in nicely...
I have owned both FS horsehide and goatskin jackets. Loved both but they are generous in their cut. When I lost weight had to sell them both. The goatskin was just like my original Roughwear 18091 contract which is goatskin. I found their customer service to be superb and you can work with...
Doug,
I own a BR A2 best repro I ever bought. I got the Rough wear model 23380. Got it off ebay for 729 which included shipping. If you watch you will see BR A2s on there for much less than the retail price. There were a couple on just about a month ago. Just be sure of your size before...
I can't recommend Flight Suits enough. Great jacket for the money great customer service. Here is a link to their clearance rank.

Some great bargins here. I would also suggest you call them as many items are not listed here. Good luck.
Spad,
Check out FS clearance sale items on the web. You might find one that will fit and it is usually much lower than the retail price. You can also call them. I did and found out they had many jackets not listed on their clearance page.
I think for the fit you want the Buzz Rickson 23380 is best. The RMNZ Monarch is a close second. The Buzz is the best fitting A2 I have even when compared to my originals. It is also has the look of the real thing as well. It has wider shoulders than any of the RMNZ or Aero I have. ELC...
Agree with Doc on the FS sizing. I take a 44 in RMNZ a 42 in ELC and a 42 or 44 in Aero. I only have original 422s and G1s all 42. In FS their 42 A2 is too large so I would take a 40. So the advice going down a size is about right.
Agree with above I would go with FS. I have seen in person their M422 jacket and it is excellent. The cost is also good. Customer service is great as well.
Ray,
Did you buy one yet? What brand did you get? The Monarch A2 I got from RMNZ was soft when new. It was a darker brown than russet. The hot water treatment does soften the leather I have used it but you must be careful not to get the lining too wet as it can damage it.
