does any one know which maker the A-2 in the pic is from? It's a picture of my father in North Africa circa 1943. I am interested in having an exact copy made.

Thanks for the larger picture. Looking at the shape of the pocket and the shape of the flap it might be made by one of the following makers: Poughkeepsie, Dubow or Cable. More pictures from different angles would nail it, but I
guess these don't exist!

Thanks for the reply. You are right I dont have any other angle shots, but I do have one with him wearing it standing by a P-38. I have to get it scanned in and blown up though.

Also, I might add, that, Eastman's version of the Aero A-2 is superior to that of Aero of Scotland's version. They no longer advertise it on their website but it is still available upon request. Buzz Rickson's version is the best, but hard to come by in larger sizes.

I would say Aero but perhaps a 27753 but sure looks aero to me. Here is a shot of my buzz aero repro note the pockets. The collar looks just like mine that I got it lay just like his. Cool looking jacket in the photo.

Have to disagree with you on the Aero, but each to his own and we all have opinions.

Well, I guess it aint all that easy to figure out a manufacturer from a picture. There's too much deviation in detail between manufacturers. Just can't tell for sure.

Ok looked at several photos of Dubows and think it could be one. I really looked hard at the collar and the pocket and pocket flaps. They are part of the key to maker of this jacket. Every maker had some unique touches to their A2. If it is a Dubow then I would save my money and get one from RMNZ. I have one and they are excellent jackets. You might also want to get the unit patch made as well.
