I agree with BenStephens and Miss Neecerie. It's just the normal buzz word and focused on the fashion populous as a whole.
I kind of like their take on mixing vintage in to our normal wardrobe. I so seldom see vintage around here that I get a kick out of seeing someone toting a vintage purse...
Ditto above. It's probably some crazy kind of tightly knitted (or woven) synthetic.
If you spaced them out more you could do a facing (like a bound buttonhole), but that tightly together, you'd have to do a super tiny bias facing and I think it would distort.

We were there last year and I wore mostly wide leg pants (in linen and in narrow cordoroy) with button down short sleeve shirts and cardigans. I had a somewhat tailored looking blazer I threw on over everything for evenings. It was mostly warm when we were there...
I second that! Slips always make skirts and dresses sit better. I have just gotten used to wearing slips, so even if modern skirts/dresses have linings I wear a half slip. I don't like the material modern slips are made out of (a few of the ones I have are static monsters so somewhat defeat...

MarieAnne, it's not straight from the hip- it flares a little bit at the hem... kind of somewhere between a pencil skirt and an A line skirt, I guess. The buttons are what got me :)
