Someone in need of assisance might feel like an outsider, one apart from the rest. Someone who feels this way (feels like they're different) is more likely to seek out the one who also stands out from the rest. They're different too so therefore they might have more sympathy and understanding...
ManofKent- Sam confirmed that there was a mistake and the hat was not produced. Nothing he can do about it at this point so I chose a Woomera instead. Not what I wanted but who knows, I might like it. A new hat is more exciting than a refund.
You can cut the plastic layer out of the liner. I always do that when I get a hat that has the plastic in it.
I guess they made a mistake and the hat never got ordered. Now it's no longer made and I can't get it at all. I think I might change my order to a Woomera in sand color. Meh. Not real...
I ordered a Silver Spur back in July. It should've been shipped in October. No emails from EA other than the original order confirmation. Today I sent an email asking about the order. Now waiting for a reply.
I've about had enough as well. I don't shop ebay for myself anymore since my 7 1/2 head makes it too expensive. Why would I spend 100+ bucks on a 70's or newer Stetson? No thanks!
I'm thinking of getting an Akubra sombrero and doing a Bush Tucker man crease (I just love that hat for some reason). Every website I've seen it on lists fawn as the only color offered. The picture shown on some sites show a mid tan color while other sites show it as a darker green color. I...
I am not saying that it doesn't clean hats. I'm saying that it isn't perfect. There doesn't seem to be a perfect way to clean a hat. If the hat isn't really dirty then why use such a harsh chemical? I'd save that stuff for a more heavily soiled hat. That way the pros would far outway any...
I've used camp fuel on things before (not hats). It seems to leave a slight oil residue behind. This could cause the hat to pick up dirt. You know how a lawnmower accumulates dirt around the gas tank where spilled gas has dried. I'm just saying that I wouldn't use such extremes in this case. The...
If this happened to me, I'd just wear a different hat for a day. Any harmful bacteria would be dead by then. Probably after just a couple of hours if there isn't any residue for it to live on.
I worked the brim on my CD to try and solve the brim flange problem I was having. First, just for kicks, I tried it down all around but this made it look like I was wearing a cereal bowl upside down on my head. I gave it a pencil curl all around by pushing out the flange to a sharper curl at the...
Question about breaking in a new "stiff" hat... There has been a lot of talk on here about softening felt. My question: Does "working" the felt to soften it up cause the felt to shrink more or maybe faster? I've only done this on a few hats and it seems to weaken or loosen the felt to some...
Easy for me to nail one down. Akubra. The only dang one I can afford! If I were rich I'd be checking out VS. That reminds me, I was going to buy a lotto ticket on my way home tonight. Well, Akubra it remains.
Ok so it's not only price. I think they use crack somewhere in the felting process as...
I just ordered my second Silver Spur from EA. I waited too long on the Boss Of The Plains. I'd sure like to have another one of those too. I was planning on buying few of both styles. I wanted to cut the brim down a bit on both but I wanted to keep a couple with the full brim as well.
From what I understand... It has to do with the felting process. If the felt is not fully felted at the factory, it will continue the process as you wear it out in the rain and such and end up shrinking. A fully felted pure beaver hat should be better than a fully felted rabbit but an under...
I have a custom Mackey pure beaver. The feel of the felt is nice but my Akubras hold up to rain better. I don't like the Mackey sweatband. I have to peel it off my forehead and it is painful sometimes.
If I didn't have to shop at Walmart and then eat at Arby's, I'd take off my hat. That said, I love both places and would rather keep my hat on. If there were better places to eat and shop at that offer an exceptable rate, I'd be happy to remove my hat. I've never seen a grocery store without...
I don't remove my hat while eating unless I'm at home. If it's a nicer place (not too many here) and there is a place to put it I'll take it off but I usually don't eat out and when I do it's a chain place so that ain't gonna happen! I do like to take it off when I'm able to take it off if I...
