The fit is similar to my Barnstormer, as is the colour. Very nice indeed.
I was considering one of these before I settled on the Barnstormer, I see that the fit is very similar.
Mine was very stiff, and is slowly softening up. Wear it as often as you can, and it will break in!
It happened to me as well... we went to a bird-of-prey reserve down in Kent, and I stuck the ticket sticker to the front of my jacket.
When we came home, Mrs. Matei ripped the sticker off, and to my surprise it took a thumbprint size area of stain with it! I don't worry too much, as the...
I'd opt for wearing it just for cocktails...
We've got a small cocktail party this weekend, if only I'd remembered this thread earlier and sorted myself out a smoking jacket! :p
My turn to chime in on this thread...
I've been using a Sensor for the past 12 years. Prior to that I was using my father's old Gillette safety razor, which belonged to his father as well... It dated back to the '50s, and did a fine job.
I stopped using it when I went to basic...
I would agree with the other posters, that a mobile should be either in one's briefcase/satchel or in a pocket.
I used to keep my mobile in my... ahem... "manbag", however I've since switched to an iPhone, which is so slim that it fits in my pocket without creating an unsightly bulge.
The...
Barnstormer query
Hi all,
Unlike most Barnstormer queries (including my previous ones), I actually have the jacket.
I've finally been able to break it out for the brisk weather we've been having of late. I noticed that the back of the jacket seems to have quite a bit of extra leather...
Alas, there is not. I was careless and went to place my pint on what I believed to be the bar surface... however it was a tray which was only partially supported by the bar.
The weight of the full pint then tipped the tray over, summarily dousing my new-ish hat with my favourite bitter...
Wow... things have certainly changed since I ordered my AB a few years ago. Wait times and prices have gone up! ;)
I did wait several months for Steve to make the hat, but it was well worth the wait. It is a lovely hat, and really fits the bill.
Mine has been through quite a lot...
I liked IV just because we got the chance to see Indiana Jones again on the big screen. I didn't care for the Le Bouef kid, I don't think he is a very convincing actor. I would be very disappointed if they tried to pass the fedora on to him.
As one of the previous posters brought up... if...
I couldn't wear a hat with my hair in a ponytail. The way the hat sits on my head would stop on the ponytail, and sit too high.
I couldn't bunch the hair up on the top of my head and cram it under the hat either, as it is very unruly and refused to cooperate.
I did discover however that...
Well... the situation resolved itself.
My hair is too thick to wear long and wear a hat. All my hats are 7 3/8'', and all the extra hair made it impossible to wear them!
I got tired of the mane, and I'm back to a '40s-esque style. Much better in the hot weather!
Thanks Doug C - those trousers look the business. They're exactly what I'm after, and methinks it'll be easier to get a pair of those than having to wrangle with a tailor to re-create a pair.
Ушанка по русски, căciulă pe românește. :)
I used to have a few when we lived in Romania, they are very useful in the cold weather. Mine were made from rabbit fur.
The best one I had was from Russia - obviously. ;)
Sadly, these hats are slowly dying out in Romania. A few years...
