today.
everything i wanted to wear with this dress is already packed for my upcoming move! so i ended up with a 30s dress, 40s (repro) wedges, and 50s sunglasses and purse! lol
(i had a ladybug on my hand!)
your hair looks like it's about as dark as mine. when i was younger i dyed it black sometimes with a semi-permanent dye. my hair was so dark anyway that it was very low-maintenance. i second the suggestion of starting with semi-permanent to see if you like it!
I'm moving in 14 days so I'm still trying to pare down my STUFF! There are still items available from the above posts, and prices now include shipping (unless otherwise noted):
- Shimmery green early 60s suit, floral wrap halter top, black wool dress, striped 50s western pants, hot pink Dalton...
ummm, well i had pulled the side pieces back with bobby pins, so i just slipped the tops of the hairnet over the pins to secure them and tucked the bunchy ends under. it was pretty untechnical but it worked!
this one is older than what i usually collect. approximate year, anyone? it's in incredible shape, the fabric is a very small gingham check, and the buttons are black and seem to be glass. there are so many intricate gathers in it! thanks for any help you can give!
'tis the week for vintage patterns, it seems!
i have patterns that i've organized into lots by decade. i have not counted pieces for these and they are in various conditions. therefore i will be selling them for super-cheap. i don't care what you do with them, use them, collect them, sell...
you should be! the PDX Vintage Julies are the very definition of Pure Hotness*. and we're fun!!
*may be a slight exaggeration.
and Miss 1929, i think you both look lovely!!
lol yes, i cut them again!! i watched "the notorious bettie page" again and that was the totally logical outcome. thank you and YES i am wearing a hairnet! i did a lousy set and knew it didn't stand a chance against the dampness.
yep... i've NOT-met rockabilly clubs full of them. lol
but yeah, i've had experiences like that at least a few times in my life. it's even worse when you are pining away for a vintage-friend and you get the cold shoulder!
thank you! pinch away! would you believe i have a 49er that compliments the teal perfectly? it's mostly black with teal and red plaid! of course i wore it that night!
vintage_betty, you lucky lady! i have a neat 60s record player but not much to go on it.
epr, i am COVETTING those shoes. oh my goodness! (if you decide you don't want them, and you're a 7.5 or 8....;))
hannah, that pencil skirt is FAB!!!
