i hold to my statement that it depends on the person's hair, and i guess also their tolerance of leaving in sets. maybe i could get results with one-length hair, if i left my rollers or pincurls in for 2 days. for me, that's just not reasonable - it's much easier just to have a few layers. :D
aw, thank you mary! i don't think i have a gal in sweden yet! :D
thanks edward! my tattoo is this:
and yes, it really looks that bad. it got infected and the color bled out. i really need to get it fixed :(
the sally near me doesn't carry ANY! i walked around the store 5 times and then asked the gal, who confirmed it! i guess their stock differs by area.
i want that bread box like no other, but i really shouldn't buy anything! AAAAaRGH! i'll think about it for a couple more days, and if no one grabs it, maybe i will before it hits the 'bay! ;) any idea how much it might be to ship? to oregon?
ranger01,
this is going to sound really weird, but if the genes of two of my ex-boyfriends were combined, the product would be your clone.
that said... nice tux!! you look very slick.
i think this all really depends a lot on your hair type. i spent tons of time doing all sorts of vintage hairstyles for nearly a decade before getting a layered cut. i tried every combo of setting technique and product, and i just didn't achieve the same results without the layers as i do with...
i have tons of 70s-does-40s clothing. try watching "boogie nights" without the "ew 70s" bias and see all the similar styles!
but seriously? most people don't pay attention to historical style like we do. i got over people never knowing what decades stuff is from a long time ago. i think it's...
Mary_Deluxe, Geek Love is one of my all-time favorite books!
Pretty_Faythe, i have a vintage version of ATGIB too! i think my copy is from 1947, and it includes Maggie Mae as well.
i had layers cut into my hair, and really love it! my hair doesn't like to curl, and the bottom holds the curl the best, so since i have layers i have more "bottom" and so there is more curl! does that make sense? also, the back is cut into a U-shape, which i think adds a lot to the...
thank you! the bodice is actually quite plain. the sleeves are puffed and have elastic at the edges, but it needs to be replaced, and it's a bit too high-waisted for me. so i think it looks better with the jacket on! here it is on a hanger:
today i was the proprietress of my basement vintage sale!
- black 40s jacket (oops, the lining is hanging out a bit!)
- 50s day dress
- red Remix Picasso wedges
- black celluloid necklace
- black ribbon in ponytail
i was playing with the timer on my new camera, so i missed my feet...
hey portlanders,
i'm moving from my house to an apartment on june 1st, so i'm having one last, huge vintage sale in my basement tomorrow, sunday, may 11. there will great prices on vintage clothing, shoes, and etc! i'll be open from 10am - 5pm. come by if you get a chance! bring cash...
you normally look gorgeous, but honestly, i personally don't think it looks very good on you. it's not fitted enough in the waist, and the color doesn't look too great with your skin.
as i'm not impressed by brands at all, i say pitch it and find something that works better for you, shape-...
it amazes me what a difference it makes to not wear shoes in the house. one of the families i work for have a "no shoes" household, and i've noticed how much cleaner everything stays! (plus i feel less guilty when the kids eat food that's been dropped on the floor ;))
i'm chubby and don't have much cellulite.
i've heard staying well-hydrated can help minimize the appearance.
did anyone else notice that it looks like the mischa barton pics have been manipulated? see how the woodgrain in the table stands out more than you would expect, as well as her...
