It does look nice but no, I don't think it's worth it. If it doesn't fit, sell it and use the proceeds to buy a suit that's more your size, or close enough that it can be easily altered and not completely rebuilt (which may not be satisfactory, anyway.)

Fastuni, the original is also that tall, but they are a little higher than the norm for detachable point collars. I have a long, thin neck (the collars are only 14" from the ends of the buttonholes), so a taller collar suits me well.
Just finished another shirt from the same pattern, but this one for detachable collars. The striped shirting I picked up in Leeds years ago and have been holding onto it. The neckband and yoke are faced in plain white poplin.

Are you sure they're canvased? The cuffs usually have linen canvas, but the whole sleeve?
