I think I did this about eight years ago or so where I had bought a new Aero House A2 in the Indian goat they were offering at the time but just couldn't get on with it so I was able to trade it off against a steerhide Highwayman without any issues.
Back in the old days :)
once you're in, I'm afraid you're in....the wanting and spending begins :)
if you like the G1, there are always great condition originals to be had on ebay and for reasonable prices too. my last G1 I purchased was a 1971 Brill Bros, goatskin with dynal collar (fake fur) in super condition for...
The ELC Crown zipper is spring loaded and is a repro which is installed on all new Eastman A2's unless it is an original maker contract which will either have a Talon or Crown depending what was on the Contract jacket.
The RW 1401-P had a Crown zipper as standard when originally produced where...
initially, I used a spray bottle with hot water and thoroughly soaked the jacket then wore it until nearly dry but that didn't really make much different to the overall size and fit of the jacket, it just helped bring out the natural grain and creasing of the leather.
So I went one step further...
thanks guys, appreciate the honest comments I really do.
I just wanted to post a photo to show how the HWT treatment I gave the GW has really brought out the grain in the horsehide, not just on the pocket but it's pretty much the same all over with the lighter russet tones beginning to show...

Well I took the plunge and gave the Goodwear the HWT treatment to see if I could shrink the jacket down a little in size.
I think the results were slightly positive as the jacket feels a little smaller but not by much however, the grain on the leather has really come out making the jacket look...
thanks for the comments guys, I do prefer the GW hands down but as the jacket was ordered in 2012 and received in 2013 of the measurements supplied at the time unfortunately since then I have lost around 20lbs and gone down a clothes size hence my issue.
If I could in take in the back of the...
I tend to find that G1s fit better than A2s for me and when I'm buying vintage as long as the jacket has 24" pit to pit and 19.5" - 20" across the shoulders which are usually labled a 44" or 46" reg then I can pretty much expect a good fit.
