Photo re-shoot wearing the right trousers.......
GW
ELC
I personally think the GW back is really blousy where as the ELC is blousy but not as much also, with this being a RW it's roomy around the torso and I am thinking probably the Dubow contract would be a better fit for my body...
I have two A2 jackets both are the RW 27752 contract, one by Goodwear and one by Eastman.
The GW is a size 48 (roughly equates to a modern 46) and the ELC is a 46 reg off the rack.
The issue is with the fit of each jacket, I personally think that the GW is too big and the ELC slightly bigger...
you could also look at the Eastman B-10. nice and light, comfy and very warm - much better than a Tanker and in my opinion probably the best B-10 repro out there.
I agree, I did pick up a very nice Brill Bros D series from 1971 which is made from goat but alas has the dynal collar but having said that, it's a quality jacket, well made with great knits and zipper.
Cost was under $150
Here's a Goodwear Star Sportswear A2 in seal HH up for sale on ebay, have a look at the photos it shows how that jacket starts to break in with wear etc.

Hi Mike,
I recently picked up a 1977 E series Ralph Edwards in cowhide with a dynal collar which is an issue size 46" reg and I would say it was approximately true to size fit.
I'm not sure whether the sizing changes depending on the contract year to which RE supplied G1s to the Navy as some...
I agree, go vintage if you can, I picked up two vintage G1s in the past few months both for well under $150.
A 1971 Brill Bros D series in goat with a dynal collar, size 46" and a 1977 Ralph Edwards E series in what i'm guessing is cow, with dynal collar size 46".
The Brill Bros is the larger...
My advice would be, measure a jacket that fits you well concentrating on the front pit to pit, shoulder width, back length measurements then try to find an original G1, more chance of getting one from the late 60's early 70's than an earlier model and these can be picked up at a good price.
I...
that jacket's a beaut Andrew, normally i'm not a fan of the red knits/seal combo but your replacements seem a very subtle rust colour which really lends itself to the jacket shade, is the hide a dark russet or a light seal in shade......looks great and definitely fits you really well, I'll go...
I wear a leather jacket to work most days, either an A2 or G1 (wearing a B-10 at present) depending on the weather.
The office environment is smart casual but I wear shirt, trousers, dress shoes etc., I have attended meetings wearing my A2 and nothing was said, however for most of the time, the...
Here's a few I would probably wear in the office environment and would go with more of a brown than a black colour hide, Cordovan always looks classy in my opinion.
