That seems to be the issue with all G&B flight jackets that they run big no matter which type of jacket you order.
I am a relative newcomer to nylon flight jackets and having never owned one of any type before November last year so that's when the learning curve began as the sizing is unique...
I've just managed to score a 1961 Skyline MA-1 size Large off ebay which looks in pretty good condition, should be winging it's way from US at some point this week.
My favourite and best fitting G1 is a 1950's near mint LW Foster size 46 with all orignal parts, goatskin is amazing and the mouton collar is just fabulous and the blackend Conmar zipper is a smooth a silk.
Next in line is a 1971 D series Brill Bros size 46, goatskin hide but with the dynal...
I recently picked up a NOS (with tags) Weintraub Bros L-2A in a size Large and i've been pretty impressed with it, good quality jacket and well made.
Not sure when it was manufactured as their website no longer produces these jackets anymore as far as I am aware, there was a review on a past...

wearing my L-2A this morning and having been toying with the idea of purchasing an Alpha N-2B parka at some point this season, not that the weather really warrant's it at the moment though.
wasn't the G1 mouton collar installed to prevent neck chaffing from the constant looking around and checking you six for bandits unlike the A2, wear a scarf was needed to be worn against the leather collar.
Here's a couple of photos of a Weintraub L-2A repro in new condition (with Tags), not sure when it was manufactered so maybe NOS as I can't seem to see it being produced any more when searching the net but could be wrong.
It's a pretty decent repro, well made with good stitching and solid...
