Heh, I just got a small tax refund ... enough to buy me one Chie Mihara shoe! I wouldn't know what to wear on the other foot, though. :p
More Chie cuteness:
I'm pretty sure none of the vintage soap brands that are still in production are made using the old-fashioned cold process anymore. Today supermarket soap bars are chemically made and in my opinion unfit for facial use ... Handmade soap from eco shops, farmers markets etc. on the other hand...
Chie Mihara yr killing me
These are available in ruby red as well
As for the price of shoes, I think you need to keep in mind that consumer goods are generally cheaper in the US, the land of consumption. I'm often amazed how cheap electronic stuff, clothes and shoes, makeup and...
Thanks for the recommendation, Miss Retro :)
I just wish those German brands weren't so @%6)?# expensive in Denmark.
I stopped by a Matas the other day .. maybe this one is worth a try?
"Removes heavy make-up", "softens and moisturises". The ingredient list seem very similar to Pond's...
Another thing that works instead of adding layers and layers of powder is to dab with a wet cotton ball whenever necessary, several times a day. Just cold water and cotton, it actually soaks up excess oil and makes you feel a little fresher, and if you then powder on top of it it will sit nicer...
ShoreroadLady, I got them from a Danish website but several German websites stock them as well (it's an Austrian brand). I couldn't find them on the think! website either! I saw them in a lovely brownish burgundy colour on www.schuhpaket.com , they would probably be willing to ship outside the...
Boo, I was hoping the Matas cold cream had a nicer scent so I could put it in the cute Boot's cold cream pot. I saw that Matas have a traditional cleansing cream in a huge tub, maybe it's worth trying too?
I've been very happy with the Mellisa cleansing cream in the pump bottle, I used it for...
I get the wrinklies too, and this one works for me. It really makes the difference between overly made-up flour face and natural-looking 'second skin'. Mineral make-up also has a tendency to clog up my pores big time (although it's said to not clog pores) if I don't remove the excess this way.
Laura Chase, I know for sure that Matas do a cold cream. They sell it as a winter/ski sports cream though, but I bet it could be used for cleansing. I'll check the ingredient list next time I'm in a Matas store.
I have the Boots one too, bought in the UK, and I like it apart from the strong...
Oh, how cool that you know Russian! I read Chernyshevsky's What Is To Be Done? via references to it in Emma Goldman's memoirs and became a little obsessed with Vera Pavlovna's character, these women, their beliefs, dresscode and everything :)
Well, anyway, welcome to the lounge :)
Aw, man ... those popsicle coloured shoes, artful dodgette!! They truly are "Paradise Shoes".
Miss Sis and Mary, on the subject of 30s shoes ... I got a totally dreamy pair of 30s black faille evening shoes on eBay a while ago, but like you say they are way too narrow. They are about a US size...
Could any of you US ladies be persuaded to pick up a couple of Besame things for me and forward them in my direction? I could return the favour with copies of sewing patterns (size 16) ... or anything else you could think of. PM me!
Or would any of you Scandinavians like to team up and order...
Pina Bridgette, I'd love to see pics of you wearing the Nars reds! Scarlet Empress looks like a lovely burgundy/brick red.
And don't worry about your excessive lipstick shopping, this way we can all profit from it ;)
