NARS Casablanca is a very good matte peachy coral, it looks a lot like the one in the pics you posted. I think I've recommended it here before, I really like this lipstick!
I'm on the fence about Pendletons, too! It looks smashing on you, DPD. I love anything plaid. And I need a jacket to go with wide legged trousers, and a 40's ladies suit jacket paired with trousers looks too "powersuit" for my liking.
Was Pendleton the first company to produce this style of...

Those green shoes are divine! I think I nearly died.
(I think you can soften them with leather balm on the inside. I wouldn't touch the outside by fear of staining the suede.)
Has anyone read the "Claudine" books by Colette? In the first one, "Claudine à l'école" the teenage girls all gossip about each other having hairy legs. This book came out in 1900.
I don't think it [Custom Maid diamond panel girdle] does much for cinching in the waist since it dips into a v at the front to avoid rolling. But it does a fair job at holding in the tummy and smoothing out hips and thighs. It also has six ribbon covered garter straps and lacy edging!
Maybe...
I've tried these, I got them from an Asian shop. My hair did get tangled, but then I have quite frizzy and unruly hair so they might be better suited for Asian hair types.
You do look like a complete goofball while wearing them, though lol
Thank you! I'll make sure to post a pic of the vanity table when I'm done with the upholstering.
Miss N., great pattern! What is the proper name for this kind of garment, a skort? Or gauchos?
Pretty hats! I think I like the straw one the best. Are they pheasant feathers?
Straw hats somehow seem more wearable to me, in terms of strangers giving you funny looks, maybe because more and more people want to avoid sunlight and wear hats for that reason? [huh]
I just got a Custom Maid diamond panel open bottom girdle and wanted to recommend it to you - it's available from Girdlebound, amongst others.
Very comfortable because it's v-shaped at the front and less functional-looking and prettier than Rago IMO. Now I need another one in black :)
I did as you suggested and asked a lady in a fabric store. She didn't recommend sending them out for sharpening since it would cost as much as a new pair of shears AND I could risk getting them back ruined!
Her suggestion was to cut into very fine sand paper with the pinking shears and sharpen...
Oh cool! (No, I wasn't going to do it with clothing dye, sorry for being so unspecific :eusa_doh: )
Has anyone actually tried this? Is it possible to get a good result, or will it get all uneven? I suddenly see endless shoe possibilities :)
I have a somewhat similar question: Do you think it's possible to dye/stain white or beige leather shoes navy or red or other dark colours? Coloured shoe polish wouldn't be enough, would it?
I searched for vintage raincoats on the internet a while ago and learned that it's a major fetish object! Let's just say I found some rather ... interesting websites lol
I might sound weird but Head and Shoulders dandruff shampoo is very effective against back acne, even the stubborn hormonal kind. I think it's the zinc in it. Leave the foam on for a couple of minutes, then rinse well to get the silicone film off. I'd never put it anywhere near my face, though...
You look so classy, Betty!
(You also remind me a lot of my grandmother on my father's side when she was young, especially in the last picture, it almost made me gasp! She was a very classy lady, so that's a compliment. ;) )
