Hey everyone!

So, I have been rather bad with my stomach for the last couple of weeks, and somehow it's not really getting that better..... And due to that, I also got a LOT of break outs from that as well! (as if it wouldn't be enough already... :( ) I also got break outs on my shoulder and back, what I never did before! So I wonder, is there anything I can do from the outside to make it better? My mother said that it's impossible, and that I have to wait till my stomach is working well again, is it really like that? The products I usually use don't work....

I don't really know by now, I have been to the doctors severell time, first it was, or it seemed to be gastro-enteritis, but after one week, when the symptomes went away my stomach was bloated like hell (and still is so far) I'm now waiting for the blood test and have to go to ultrasonic in a few days and yes, it has to do with my skin because now the stomach isn't able to detox and has to do it through the skin, now I'm bloated like crazy and have pimples all over, very pretty though..... But these days I'm happy that babydoll dresses and such are in again....

Sounds to me that you're just stressed--that will cause both the stomach upset and the breakouts--so work on calming yourself. Take a day off work, start practicing yoga, write a few pages in your journal, punch a pillow. I hope you feel better soon!

I am so sorry to hear that you're not doing well, Naama. I myself suffer from Ucerative Colitis and it's no picnic. The stomach and skin are definitely connected, as you say: your stomach can't detox. I assume you have done all the allergy tests (gluten/lactose etc), otherwise I'd recommend doing those first. All you can really do at this point is wait for a diagnose, drink lots of water and relax as much as possible. A lot of stomach/stomach related deseases are worsened by stress.

I hope you find out soon what's wrong so that you can start some proper medication. Until then, feel better! *big hug*

As an Esthetician your out side is only as good as your inside for the most part. I would try some deeper exfoliation on your back area, like an apricot scrub with a soft brush don't ever use that on your face though. Exfoliate your face with a mild exfoliate, like Biore. If you can try and purchase an enzyme peel with either pumpkin or papaya in it that will do wonders too. That will help you out alot and hold you over till you get our body all worked out.

I'm really no expert on this. But I will reccomend exfoliating the skin, (which is supposed to help,) and taking some time to pamper yourself. If it doesn't help the skin, at least the placebo effect of doing something for yourself should help. And don't kill yor skin with strong medicated creams! It's OK to use something a little stronger directly ont the pimples, but be carefull with the skin in general. You don't want to end up with both pimples and dry skin!

I have stomach problems that are made worse by stress (and various foods I love - of course!!) So I kinda know what you mean, I get a lot of spots on my back and chest, especially when I am ill ill. I agree with the other ladies and say just taking some time to relax a little can help. I find a hot water bottle helps for stomach aches & bloating, as does sitting propped up in bed watching a soppy film or 3 :D

I realise this is no help for the skin, I apologise for my lack of help, but I do believe you have to be good on the inside to look good on the outside.

That's my excuse anyway - my insides are so very wrong lol

For back acne: Try washing with a soap for skin problems in the shower every morning. I have been using Cliniuqes soap bar for acne skin, and since I started using it regulary in the mornings, (and when I remember in the evenings), my skin has improved. I find this product a little to harsh on the face, but the back is less sensitive and needs a little tough love. But again, be carefull with the face!

Also, it can be wise to make sure to wear tops of natural fibre. Man-made fibres make you sweat more and can make the problem worse.

I don't know about your spesific stomack problems, but I have had good results for my sometimes troublesome stomack, (since I got an infection in Mexico,) with pills containing natural stomack bacterias. Same little creatures you find in youghurt and kefir, but bigger doses.

This is what works for me, but we are all different so it might not work for you. Good luck and take care of yourself, that's whats most important.

I'm sorry to hear you are ill. Perhaps if you went on a cleanse diet-under the supervision of your dr. of course. Are your stomach ills viral/bacterial? Some of these infections can easily/unpleasantly be cured by fecal transplant. Few Drs. offer the procedure because they find it repulsive and I think that's outrageous. I think increasing your intake of probiotic cultures like Helen suggested is a wonderful idea.
When I get really bloated I drink NatureSM Tea and lot's of water. The tea is a laxative and gets rid of the bloating and the water is just to keep me hydrated throughout the whole process. I wouldn't recommend this until you get your stomach sorted out though.

I might sound weird but Head and Shoulders dandruff shampoo is very effective against back acne, even the stubborn hormonal kind. I think it's the zinc in it. Leave the foam on for a couple of minutes, then rinse well to get the silicone film off. I'd never put it anywhere near my face, though.
... and get well soon :)

Thanks everyone! I will try some of the suggested! :)
But I really don't think that this will come from stress, because this all started during the hollidays....

I find a lot of soap (especially those with acne treatments in them) to be too harsh for my skin, but I find the Jason brand tea tree oil body wash to work well. The tea tree oil helps to treat acne, but the soap is still gentle on my skin. Plus it's organic and Lauryl/Laureth Sulfates free. I've found that since I've switched over to Lauryl/Laureth Sulfates free bath products, I haven't had any problems with my skin bothering me. It used to be dry, red and chaffed constantly before I made the switch.

Naama, are you eating a lot refined foods (like white bread, bagels, chips, junk food) to make your stomach feel better? Those foods can cause bloating. The gluten in them can also make some people break out.

When my dog had stomach problems, my vet recommended a diet of white rice and chicken breast. Rice has little or no gluten.

Good luck.

Familiar Face
My partner has dealt with stomach issues such as bloating. He went to see his doctor and they just told him to get more fiber and such. The symptoms continued and 2nd opinion and same prognosis.

He then started getting really bad acne breakouts at 22 after never ever having any acne issues ever. So off he went to the dermatologist and still no change in his face.

Finally he went to the best of the best for skin and the Dr. could see that his breakouts were not normal and very inflamed. He basically told him that yes hormones have a big impact on the skin but the American population has the worse acne issues then any other country he has seen because of our diet of over processed food.

The Dr. begin to explain that he was involved in a study were diary products from cows treated with hormones have been linked to acne in his recent studies.....

And the one addition to my partners diet has been diary since he previously never drank milk because he never really liked it but started having a glass a day just so he gets the calcium and such..you know for a 'healthy body'.

MILK!!!

We started buying organic milk and limiting anything else thats over done with the processing and the acne is gone away to less then 10 percent. He was also given antibiotics to help speed up the process and some antibacterial wash and a cream to remove the redness and another for the scaring.

Ohh and the bloating is gone too.

So no more fast food ... shop at Trader Joes or Whole Foods market as the American company's are a mess at what they are spooning into our mouths...and who knows what cloned cattle or anything else that is cloned will or is further doing to our bodies.

Scary isnt it.

Thanks for all you're suggestiongs!

Unfortunately, I still don't do any better really... Actually, it seems like the bloating and the skin is getting worse. But all the tests so far didn't showed anything.... I now have to wait for some other tests, but it will take a bit longer till I get results... Tomorrow I will go for allergie tests in foods. And yes, my diet can't be a reason for it, beause I get bloating no matter what I eat.... My nails are also starting to break more then they usually do now, thankfully so far my hair isn't affected by that :( And I'm really getting sick of doctors and looking like I'm pregnant (my back also starts eaching....) At the moment I pretty much feel like I've just turned 80......

Sometimes changes in diet take time to work--like weeks or a month.

Another thing that can cause bloating is swallowing air when you eat. I sometimes do this when I feel stress, and I don't even realize I'm doing it.

I hope you get well soon.
