Granite is, in my opinion, the most versatile gray. It has a brownish undertone that pops out in certain lighting, or against certain other colors.
Here's my granite VS in sunlight.
I'm actually quite content. Or maybe I should say happy. I'm actually entering my third and fourth stages now, simultaneously. lol
I have to fight off the occasional itch to buy something I shouldn't (like another Stetson), but, I was lucky enough to find my Stage 2 bliss quickly. I built...
Hmm... your Diamante looks much different from mine. Would you mind posting a link to where on the website you found that one? Not that I don't like mine, but yours looks to be a bit nicer.
You know, I was going to say that it had a bit of that Public Enemies look to it, too. Looks like some fine work. Simple, classic, versatile. Did I mention it's darn nice, too?
Blue Smoke is a gorgeous color, isn't it! :D
 Exile the Infidel!!! :p
I got 1950's. My father's hey-day! I can live with that. I thought the decade was a bit stiff unless you were under 20, but then... I'm a bit stiff, too. So, there you go.
I have struggled with that very question for years. lol In the end, I decided that it was time to move on. I get rid of several hats a year; the ones I've grown out of (physically or mentally), the ones that never get worn, that don't look right, and the beaters that will most likely be...
Caribou is, in my opinion, the nicest color that Stetson currently has.
If I may say so, however... at size 7 1/8, you should check out ebay. Search "Fedora" and narrow down to clothes, and then vintage. I have seen a lot of vintage hats in that size lately.
Given that it's a modern Dobbs, I doubt it. Unless you know something about Dobbs that I don't. I really don't know enough about straw to say just by looking at it. Sorry.
A hat from Art Fawcett would cost less than 250 Euro, according to current exchange rates. I'm not sure what the shipping costs would be.
By making the snap sharper, I take you to mean you want the front of the brim to come down more. You can tease that down with some steam or cool...
Well, I just did my Fall Hat Clean-out (a little early this year because of Art Fawcett's and Analogist's charitable trade-in idea). I am thinning the herd, and have finally decided to part with the hat I have left from my first year as a Fedora Lounge Member.
That's right! All my "First...
Hi gents and ladies,
I have a few hats up on ebay right now. A rain hat and summer stuff. Size 71/2 or close to it.

If you're close to Paulette (or any other shop) a visit is definitely a good idea! Buying a hat in person is always preferable to mail order.
Smaller brims seem to be rather rare this year on panamas. Still, they are around if you do some digging. Also, I notice Milan straws are easier to...
No offense, but I followed that kind of advice for years. Know where I am now, in spite of not having a single work-related blemish to my record? 3 years without a good job. Low-key "fitting in" doesn't work for every job seeker, or for every job. Sometimes, the nature of the company or...
Nothing against Borsies, but you might want to start with a lower priced panama. They take getting used to in terms of what looks good on you, that kind of thing. Just my personal view.
As for the shapable brim, yes you could shape a regular brim. But be sure to get advice from those who...
I sweat plenty, and my hair can get a bit oily. But I don't use anything in my hair, like spray or gel. I have, so far, never had a hat's felt get stained through the liner. I have stained a liner or two, but that's sort of what it's there for.
If the liner ever gets too ugly for you...
