Ultravox (feat. Midge Ure. He of Live Aid fame) - well, they were famous then! And they still sound great to me.
From their Reap The Wild Wind video, 1982 - a homage to the RFC and RAF.

Good call on letting G&B do the work. It's the best option.
And that's not bragging. He was there. The rest of us can only read the stories and imagine ...
I've had my patches sewn on by Edith (formerly of Aero, now at Alexander leathers) and her work is exemplary - with the leather patches, she gets a perfect straight line with her stitching.
But I'm in Canada and she is in Scotland. So on the other occasions when I've not had a convenient trip...
Your jacket looks the part to me, MightyEighth - great cut and colour - and the fit is bang-on, I'd say. But then, I do prefer a slightly blousey fit over the oft cited trim fit. So to me, it looks great on you. What's not to like ?!? Keep it !
And if you're still feeling restless with it -...
There are some truly excellent and commendable words of sagely advice on this thread, from all quarters. Really excellent. And t'is true, Worf; as my dad says, "You pay to learn" and you have to shell out to appreciate that adage. I mean, otherwise, how else can one possibly appreciate the...
Looks like one mighty fine B-3, CBI. You look as happy as I'd expect ! It's perfect.
My ELC RW B-3 is in daily use of course, as it has been for months now - this winter is unrelenting :)
No, it's not a copy, you're right - I used the term "copy" in its loosest terms. I stand corrected - as said the man in orthopaedic shoes.
It's a civilian version of a military jacket with aspects mostly of a G-1 to a greater extent, with an A2 to a lesser extent.
Sorry, Leafandarrow - as Justhandguns states, it is not an A2. A2's didn't have collars like that - nor hand warmer pockets; it's a civilian copy of a US Navy G-1.
The zips just work so easily - adapting the layer/s beneath with a simple pull either way without the need to look at what you're doing, snugging up the fit and sealing out any draught in 2-3 seconds.
And they match the main zip too.
I agree. I wouldn't change mine from zips to straps.
Oh my. Look at that GREEN. It seems sooo long since I saw colour like that. Just snow and ice for all these months ... sheesh.
I've just put a good application on my ELC 1942 Patt. "Irvin" - the one with the dried out finish. It went on just fine and looks great. Nice and shiny.
I know it says not to use it on aniline finished leather, but I can't see why. It just works.
A couple of weeks ago, I also put it on my...
Wow!!! All that salvage work really paid off, CBI ! VERY well done, old boy. Your dedication to the cause shows - and you've got a gorgeous jacket there - and the fit's perfect !!!
And where did you find it ?!
And as Tkecks said, any photos of it as it was (utterly ruined) would be great to see...
I still hanker for a nice ANJ-4 one day - so this thread's interesting to me as I love to see the originals and the repros and to hear the verdicts on them ...
I've only handled one original and can attest to their fragility ! It was most surprising.
But at the times I've started to really...
I was about to add "politicians" to the list, there ...!
Your man isn't in the closet, Pauleway. For those who actually want to follow and read his dealings (today I was reading about his launching of "myRA"), it's all there in plain sight ... Most frightening.
This is an interesting thread, I...
Oh dear. So just decorative, then.
You see, that'd be a deal-breaker for me right there. If I want to decorate a jacket (and I do like to - on my ANJ-3, C-3s, B-3 and even my Irvin has a tiny original RCAF sweetheart pin and a vintage WW2 escape whistle), I'd want to put something on it that is...
