Thanks. I just bought a couple of other hats recently so I'm going to pass on it but good luck with it. Looks like a very nice hat so you shouldn't have trouble finding a home for it.
That's a great looking overcoat. Probably all the colors you mentioned would look good with it but I think one of the lighter colors like Silverbelly might look best. I would try to match the lighter colored stripes in the tweed.
Jeff,
I may not be the best guy to offer advice on children because I don't have any children but I can tell you about my Dad. I can honestly say he was my best friend and I'm lucky enough to also have a lot of great friends my age. He passed away a few years ago and I sure miss him. I was...
Randall,
I bought it off of eBay for $35.00. Shipping costs were $19.00 though. The shipping costs were too high but I'm ok with the total cost. Seller said he didn't know the size but it was big. The 7 1/2 size tag was folded under the sweatband. I took a gamble on it but I'm pleased with it.
Che, great looking hat!
Art, thanks again. The Pan-Cattleman turned out great. I'll try to get some head shots for you. Believe it or not, it finally cooled off here in south Texas. So it hasn't had any serious head time yet except around the house. I actually had to wear a jacket yesterday!
CaramelSmoothie,
Great find. I've been trying to find one of those in that size for quite awhile. I hope it works well for you.
Oops, I read the auction too quickly. I thought is was a size 7 3/8. Apparently it is smaller. Still a great find for you though.
Daniel,
I'm really sorry to hear about your problems. I would think since the funds involved are over $500.00 that the USPS Inspectors would get involved. That is a significant amount of money and there is no telling how many other people they have scammed. I don't know how you go about it...
Thanks Ed. The original hat was beautiful and it broke my heart when I received it and found the crack in the brim. Thanks to Art though it will still be around for quite awhile.
An Akubra Campdraft in Silverbelly or Taupe Fawn would look nice with a brown leather A2 jacket. I have the same jacket and that's what I like to wear with mine. I don't have any pictures though but it is suppose to get cold here over the weekend and maybe I can get a few shots. Below is a link...
VS Pan-Cattleman
Below is an unusual hat Art recently made me. I had an older Hopkins of Baltimore Panama Hat that had a cattleman's crease and a wide 3 1/2 or 4 inch brim. It was a beautiful hat but unfortunatelty the brim had a crack in the straw. The crown however was still in nice shape so...
Pilgrim Open Road Style Hat
Below are some pictures of a recent purchase. It is an Open Road style Pilgrim hat that appears to have never been worn or at least worn very little. I wasn't expecting too much since it is a Sears hat but when I got it I was amazed at how nice it is. This hat is...
Great idea for a thread Randall.
I think I have to agree with Tony too. I know I personally have one old Stetson Stratoliner and one Resistol San Antonio that I had the liners and sweatbands replaced by a local hatter because the originals were shot but the felt was still decent. Since the...
