Also, Butters, could you explain 'metro-sexual'? I've heard people use that term...and I dislike it enough that I usually ignore it and forget to ask what it means. Specifically, what I want to know is not just what it describes, but WHY that term was applied to that particular style. -

The loss of a great artist.
The 70s and 80s were sort of the golden age of film scores, if you ask me...and Jerry Goldsmith was a big part of it. This is the first I've heard about his passing...he will certainly be missed.- havershaw

oops...I just realized I probably should have posted this before today, but Turner Classic Movies is having 'Crimewave Week' this week. It started Tuesday and runs through next Tuesday. eBay is a great place to start, though bowling shirts generally start off kind of expensive, usually somewhere around $20, then the bidding climbs from there. I think I only have two bowling shirts, though I just bought two more (well, they had my name already embroidered on them). I got one...- havershaw

Fedora---The Gangster Hat?!
I think I prefer the gangster thing to the Indy thing. Don't get me wrong - I started out in hats as a result of Indy - but it got tiring to hear the Indy theme get hummed because I was wearing a cream-colored fedora! I've had people say I look like a PI or gangster a few times - more... -
Here's the Doc Oc hat...
Just got back from seeing Spidey 2 again. Unless that auction photo was grossly bleached out in PhotoShop, I heavily doubt it could be the hat in the movie. It's unquestionably a dark, dark brownish grey in the film. -

Good points on the Spidey suit. RF, you're right, of course. You could start a whole separate forum topic just to bash those who claim their hat for auction is "identical to the hat Harrison Ford wears in Raiders!" - a statement which has been applied to decidedly ridiculous hats. -

You could compare the trenchcoat in RF's movie still to the one pictured in the auction, and see how the lighting changes the color of that. I think the block is identical also, and it looks like the auction photo is super blown-out to show detail. But it could be a stunt double hat...or, I... -
