Thanks, pal.
It's a beauty. I really wish I could wear the thing.
As to sizing, there's an old thread that breaks it down:

I finally wrote all of this down so I could more easily...
Took a while for me to get back this, didn't I?
I believe he said he felt it was just a terrible dose of overacting and shrubbery chewing. I can sort of see his point - but I really enjoy the movie (and his performance) anyway.
MK, I know you were looking for this at one time, and I think I recall that you found it, but just in case:

Maybe someone else would be interested in it. I have my eye on another Bogie poster right now.
Can any of you still get in touch with that NY fellow? Some of us here do indeed have pea-sized noggins and would love to grab a few of his hats. You can pm me with contact info if you've got it. I don't have too many NOS, but boy, are they great.
Off-topic of hats, but on-topic with NOS...
...so I don't have to:

it's gorgeous, there's nothing wrong with it...I just figured out the sizing wrong. I can wear up to a 5, but this is a 6, which makes it a 7 3/8. I believe a whole bunch of you on...
I thought Spider-Man 2 was pretty great as well...
...but the big thing for me was getting to see a nice, long trailer for The Aviator. I can't wait for that movie to come out.
Thanks for the kind words, gents. Interesting about that houndstooth being from the 50s. The fellow who owned both must have lot weight, because the brown suit has a 30 waist and the houndstooth is like a 27 or 28. bit of a tight squeeze for me, but I was able to wear it in the studio all...
AndyKev,
Those are indeed black shoes. In the photo, the houndstooth might look sort of like a brown houndstooth, but in reality, it is most definitely a black-and-white check. I put the brown shoes on, and they looked a little weird.
I've been on the hunt for some good spectators, and...
Well, it arrived...it's not wool felt, as the auction claimed. It's a Disney Twenty-Five, and the felt quality is probably one of the highest of any I own. It's fantastic! It's a little roomy (I can usually wear a 7 1/8, but I suspect someone stretched this a bit), but it's a beuatiful hats...
Here's the second of the three suits I just bought:
The second picture shows what the color looks like in bright sunlight. It's super lightweight fabric - like paper. It's a late 30s suit, and I have a second suit (which I'll wear tomorrow and try to get a pic of) which belonged to...
Zane, I've sent you a pm about this - let me know if you have trouble getting it (I'm aware that you have troubles with your computer from time to time).
Yeah, there was an old school hatter named Disney. I had one of their hats which was too small for me which I recently sold. It was a pretty nice felt, though, and I've been trying to grab myself a more wearable version. I just paid for that Ambassador Hotel fedora, which is marked as being a...
Zane,
Sorry for the delay in reply - I was away from the computer for a few days.
All I can do is speak from my own experiences, and I do try to post them when I think someone might be interested, or that it could help someone out. As for other folks, I think they probably just show...
wow - those are some of the nicest fedoras I have ever seen - especially the Dobbs. Man, that's nice!!!
I have a Wynewood myself and I love it. Interestingly, I think LaSalle is the same company. I recently got a vintage LaSalle and the liners were identical, only it said "LaSalle" instead...
whoa!
I would love to see that footage some time, MK. That would have been three years after the hotel closed...but only two years before they sold all of its furnishings, etc. (that was in '95).
You are a lucky man to have been able to spend time there. I have not seen the actual RFK...
