Thanks everyone. I'm in the process of working on a few orders but it's slow going as usual because my main job is still working on hydraulic hybrid truck prototypes. I set up an e-mail though:

I have one more lamb A-1 to...
This is a different pattern I'm trying based more on a Doniger type body and sleeve. It has sewn-in sleeves which are rotated more than most A-2's and like an M-422A or a G-1 (sewn in means the sleeves and body are sewn closed before they are joined together. On most A-2's you leave the body...
They really tend to grow on you- it's a nice Golden Era look that doesn't seem to be as common in the US as it is in Europe. A little more versatile wardrobe-wise than an A-2.

Wow- has it really been 8 months already? I guess having a kid really warps your sense of time...
Looks great Jack. That was a really good hide, I was looking at a scrap of it earlier this evening while messing around with my sewing machine.

Russett lambskin with cotton liner. 100% wool knits. Two piece back and arms. Double top stitching on the body and pockets. Topstitching around the cuffs. Lightweight, soft, and comfortable. Has been lightly worn for three weeks to test the fit (admittedly, there WAS a tornado involved, but...

Once again, thanks all. The stitching is all single needle, double pass. I would like to have a double needle machine, but I can't get away with having two industrials in the basement. Even some of the M-422A's were single-needle stitched though (like the Blocks) so it's more or less accurate. I...
To quote Ferris Bueller: "Never had one lesson..." but I did get a lot of very good advice and encouragement from John Chapman-would not have been able to get this far without it. It helps that I have a very strong obsessive streak in my family, and a very understanding wife.

Thanks for the compliments everyone- the collar knit is the same as the waist. Try flightsuits.com and get the all wool historical A-2 knits. Good stuff.
Thanks guys. I this is a good size 46, but I think for myself I could use about an inch off each side- I'm like a 45 long. This pattern will work for my LB jacket, A-1, and a "private purchase" A-2 which I think I am going to try next. It's really comfortable though, with no pulling on the arms...
just finished it-Here's a couple of quick pics- I'm pretty happy with it. It's made out of lambskin I found at a local warehouse.
Cheers

I look tired, annoyed, and hot in this one- it's about 84 degrees in here. Too hot for a jacket....
