Yeah, they may not be super-valuable, but if you can grab one up cheap, you can probably turn a profit. What hat for NYC?
Having spent considerable time in "tourist mode" in NYC in June - Panama! You will curse bringing felt with you. You'll hate it, and might destroy the thing yourself. Also, get a hat rain cover, if you can, or a small umbrella. If it worries you, stop by a NYC hat shop and pick up a cheap...- Not-Bogart13

Hat storage and humidity.
Keep them off the floor, and I use cedar balls in the boxes. It helps repel moths, fend off humidity, and prevent odors.- Not-Bogart13

The Downer will have the back down permanent, like a rain hat. It will not go up. The normal Explorer will go up or down, when you want. I see why you favor the salt & pepper. I think I might have found my summer cap. I like them all, tpo say the least, but the S&P has a fairly neutral look, and a lighter summery coloration. I'll ask about cut when the time comes. Maybe it will help.- Not-Bogart13
