I often defend Steve because he does get bombarded with emails, mostly from people asking every few weeks if their hat is ready. But three years and no means of contact indicates a problem to me. In the event that it is helpful, here a post from July on COW:
"Me getting to and reponding to...
I've been trying to find a way to state my issues in a constructive and concise way. I can't. So let me say this; The new look, the new organization, the whole dang barn is a cluttered mess. Too much stuff, too busy, to glitchy, and WAY too hi-tech looking. The mood is shot right along with...
I find that I almost never get the Indy comments. I've even worn an Indy jacket and Indy hat together, unconsciously, without so much as a funny glance. But, the world is filled with ignorant people waiting for a chance to stand up and be counted. It's their problem. Dress how you want to dress.
Bashing doesn't involve a block, simply shaping by hand. Many consider hand shaping a hat to be more authentic to the fedora's heyday, but that's not really true. The results can be as sloppy or exacting as you wish. For example, I thought this was blocked, but I later found out that Art...
I think I may have been one of the last to get that brown herringbone, but that was a few years ago. They may have something like it again. As Torpedo says, contact them. They have more that is pictured on the website.
Yep. I know what you mean. I try to keep certain lids out of the rain, because I don't consider shrinking to count as "surviving." But then, I don't have many hats left that can't handle water. As a rule, anything modern that gets wet is by accident, except Akubras.
Well, I finally have an entry. This actually happened a few weeks ago, but I forgot about the pics until today! Anyhow, this is a vintage Knox acquired from a member here, and it has become one of my favorites. I got caught in an unexpected shower.
I'm thinking the second to last biggest cut, because the biggest seems a bit much compared to my Hanna. I prefer the Hat People caps, but I like a floppier cap. The Hanna has more structure to it. I can roll the HP and stick it in a pocket if I want.

Hey folks,
It seems that I am going to be in Chicago twice, briefly, in November. I'll be at Union Station with 4 hours the first time, and 5 the next.
I'm wondering two things;
1. Does anyone know if there is a way to leave luggage securely in Union Station?
2. Is there mass...
I've never used 100% rayon, but as I understand it, the higher the rayon content, the better. I THINK John Penman told me he's worked with 100% rayon, but don't quote me. You could ask him.
You have one other option, if cornered with that saw-toothed stuff. Todd's Costumes carries an Indy...
Therein dwells the problem - almost all fabric and hobby stores carry ribbon that will not work for our purposes... even on line. I've lost a lot of sleep looking.
I think a simple black stingy brim fedora would work for you. There are many, but Stetson has quite a few. If you take the feather out of their Saxon model, you'll have a very flexible lid, I think.
