    I find that I almost never get the Indy comments. I've even worn an Indy jacket and Indy hat together, unconsciously, without so much as a funny glance.     Yep. I know what you mean. I try to keep certain lids out of the rain, because I don't consider shrinking to count as "surviving." But then, I don't have many hats left that can't handle water. As a rule, anything modern that gets wet is by accident, except Akubras.

    I think a simple black stingy brim fedora would work for you. There are many, but Stetson has quite a few. If you take the feather out of their Saxon model, you'll have a very flexible lid, I think.
