A price range would help. One man's "expensive" is another man's "bargain." The good news - there should be a good selection of hats that look they way you want.
I have owned a few, but my head size went up and I sold them off. I still miss them. One day I'll get another.
Now, it should be noted that they are not super soft, but not stiff either. If you want floppy brims and a crown that reforms every time you touch it, then the the Baldwin is not...
BUMP
Everything is still available. I'm willing to take offers, and will consider trades (size 50 jackets, 7 1/2 hats, hat boxes, surprise me). I'm also still digging for more stuff.
I really like this look; scarf, no tie. I would wear tweed more if I could handle the warmth, but it's tough for me. But I like it's versatility in terms of what to wear with it. I don't have to shop for stuff to work with tweed, you know?
To my mind a "wifebeater" is only called that if it's worn as a shirt, rather than an undershirt. As an undershirt, it should be called by it's other, equally insulting name, the "guinea-t". :eusa_doh:
Anyway, I wear them (strictly as undershirts) most of the time that would need an...
Agreed. I think one of the keys is finding a way to (in some cases literally) tie it all together. It looks to me like Mario has a touch of light gray in his actual tie! I have found that accessories often make tough combinations work, so do not underestimate the value of a well chosen tie...
I've owned both, and while I don't put my hats through anything too intense, they get worn in all kinds of weather. Especially wet weather. The simple fact is, I have yet to even ponder a need for a reblock on a beaver hat due to shrinking and tapering. But I've had to get the taper blocked...
That's a shame. Fabreeze doesn't bother me, and I find that using it fight a bad smell that won't go away is at best a win, at worst a stalemate. If it kills the first smell, the Fabreeze smell fades in a few days. If it fails, you're no worse off than before. [huh]
But, it matters...
Maybe not, but you can buy those items elsewhere without looking too hard. But it's not like I can go to Target and pick up a 6-pack of cardboard hatboxes. I mean, if your average guy needs to replace a hat box, his options are very limited.
Frankly, my best luck with straw hats has been with stuff under $125. Usually much under. For what most people call "Panama" (which is generally isn't the real deal) satisfies many hat wearers. My best Panama-look straws are a Stetson and a Capas. The Stetson is over $100 new (I got it...
What about the seller's feedback? Have you read it? There may clues in there as to how returns tends to work out. People who get burned on eBay tend to be very expressive.
Even if a seller has a 99% positive rating, I always read feedback (how much is proportionate to the price of what I...
It's the first sticky thread in the Classified section. And this is the second time an objection was made in ignorance. This proves my theory that Sticky threads are actually less likely to be noticed, rather than more likely. [huh] Reverse psychology, alive and well! lol
Sometimes my brain goes out for a stroll without telling me. :p
100% Cotton, made in (where else) China. I wouldn't know how to judge for lengthening the sleeve, but I measure 2 inches of material from the cuff to the end of the fabric (including what's hidden by the lining). I leave to...
