Very nice indeed!! I've done a couple-right up to the point of cutting the brim
and just couldn't do it...now I'll get out the bookbinders tools and get to work.
If anyone is interested, I have a bunch of Westerns, 7 3/8's and 7 1/2's, either NIB, very slightly used & super clean, and some...
Betty: fabulous tool! if that isn't a Christmas hat gift-I gotta serious problem . Watch it, you wize guys...
Please show some more of your presents-I for one am enthralled by
old tools for obscure purposes. Almost always, they're beautiful as well
as fascinating; and the market for...
Dr. Greg- I saw the "before and after" photos of your Akubra...really like the
color, if it's a true charcoal (is the hat close to the photos?), and like the
lines as well, especially the wide brim. My question is-how soft is the felt?
It need not be floppy soft, actually rather some guts to...
J.T.-Terrific hat for an elegant woman! The two of you will cut a rug with
your fashion sense, and now the Missus' new crown; are you planning on
going out New Years' Eve to show the young whippersnappers just how it's
REALLY done??
best wishes M
could someone show a few caps that they are particularly fond of? on OFAS, whilst looking for fedoras, I'm overwhelmed by caps ( I'm overwhelmed by most anything). The ones I see are nothing to write home about, so I'm asking to see what the cognoscenti know and have...
gotta be kidding me with that stupid, arrogant, insensitive remark just
for a chuckle? It's the kind of thing that starts serious arguments about
why someone's head smacked into my hand. gravity, or something; eh?
and this place is supposed to be aware of the diversity of culture-based
on...
for the folks that have been dreaming of something like this happening, it does! And with more frequency than you would imagine; after being in
Antiques for over 16-17 yrs. (a newbie in that profession), I've had my share of untouched stores, houses sealed up for 50+years, storage garages...
Am I not seeing something, but are hat prices jumping up and up??
A "Vintage Mens Swing Deco Borsalino Hat 7 3/8 size" just sold

With bad pictures, mistakes in the listing...what goes on here?
I'm noticing other hats of lesser quality bringing some bucks as
well...

NIce Hat!! I've had a few Champs, and the hat is underrated- felt is of
good quality, and they all seem to have a flair of their own; and the color on yours-oh boy...
wind trolley (my experience) simply unhook it - it should be doubled around the single cord, unwrap it around the crown, and...
"was it bought off of eBay"...sure was, eh Jimmy? I was kinda busy, didn't pay attention to the one hat I wanted SOOOO badly, and the next thing I
knew...ah, I'm really happy that you scored the hat, at any price-the true appreciation is coming through loud & clear. Congratulations!!

too bad when hats you want fall into your lap. really. I'll send a sympathy card...we only spend most of our lives looking for these silly things (or so it seems)-next time you get the "impulse" to buy, give me a holler & I'll put my order in. Heck. size, color,style...poor guy-must be in shock:eek:
Fatwoul- it's not the hatbands that suffer; the humiliation a proper
lampshade endures at wild parties isn't enough?? now you insist on
mounting ill-fitting pelts of innocent lil' beavers?? oh-I can't stand it...
