    Aero Sizing

I'd make sure you get the back and sleeve length you need. That's vital.

    Aero 1920s Work Coat

Thanks again, guys. Schitzo, if by facings you mean leather edging inside, there's none. Just the wool, with cotton sleeves and cord at the cuffs.

My new Wayfarer Tumbled Cordovan - fit pics

No, Tricker's aren't cheap, but they're definitely higher quality and when you add factory resoling into the equation, they'll last a long time. The nice thing about them is that different shops do short exclusive runs in different colours, with weirdo sole combinations. I got a green pair of...

My new Wayfarer Tumbled Cordovan - fit pics

Actually, its easier to find matching shoes than you might think. I have Tricker's, Lennon's and Grenson's, all in burgundy and all a damned good match. I wouldn't bother with the Grenson's though, as the leather is clearly inferior. Lennon's are cheaper and better quality, but rougher looking.

Looks great and a perfect result on your first attempt.

    Aero Pre-War Irvin - Revisited

Thanks guys. Spitfire and Griff, I followed both your Irvin sagas with interest, poring over the pics. Especially yours Griff, as we're the same size and had the same problem. I'm wearing it at a bus stop now in 5° or so, and loving it.

    Aero 1920s Work Coat

Thanks again for the kind words, guys. I'm actually surprised there's so much positivity for it, given its apparent simplicity, but like people have pointed out, there's quite a bit of subtle detailing there. Bunyip, I think the wool is maybe giving people a wrong impression of bulk and...

    Aero 1920s Work Coat

They had other Work Coats in production before mine, as I saw them, so I'm certainly not the first. But it makes sense to get new designs out into the market quickly to generate interest and bump up sales. But as Aero say on their site, waiting times are much shorter now as they have more staff.

    Aero 1920s Work Coat

Good points, PL. You've put into words what had escaped me. I suppose that helps justify the relatively hefty price. I like the way the arm seams flow through the shoulders, but maybe that happens in other jackets and I've just not noticed. All I really saw was the double row of stitching...

    Aero 1920s Work Coat

Thanks Fanch. I think this would work well on your slimmer build, should you feel the urge yet again. I'm off out soon for a meal and will give it its first outing.

    Aero Pre-War Irvin - Revisited

Thanks again guys. Repo, I think the standard wait is about 6 weeks now, which is pretty good. I got this one quicker as it was a rebuild and I think they wanted to ship it with my other order. I may be wrong, but they may only have one person, Bertie, making the sheepskins as it seems to be...

    Aero 1920s Work Coat

PL, not bulky as the wool is actually quite thin, but the whole thing seems a bit stiffer than I can remember, possibly because of the wool. I think this one will take a bit longer than the others to break in. But the slim fit means that only a very thin jumper is possible, although the...

    Aero Pre-War Irvin - Revisited

Otter, I deliberately went long on the sleeves as i like the crumpled look and I know they'll shorten a bit too. When I stretch my arms in front of me, they hit the first knuckle of my thumb. Because I was so unsure of my original size, I must have looked at almost every Irvin photo on this...

    Aero Pre-War Irvin - Revisited

Thanks guys. I must admit I really like this now, more so even than the 1920s Work Coat I also got yesterday. Dav, I'd advise you to be absolutely sure of the actual chest size and lengths you want. The standard size seems to be label plus 4 inches, so my 40 was only a 44 true chest, which...

    Aero 1920s Work Coat

I can't resist button jackets so when this came out I had to have it, even though it's broadly similar to my two Stockmans. It's from the new Premier range, which means more money, a slimmer fit, a neater collar and double stitching around the edges and collar. Slim is certainly the word for...

    Aero Pre-War Irvin - Revisited

About two months ago I got a size 40, but the neatness of the fit kept niggling at me and it just didn't feel "right", so I traded it back in and went up a size. I also added 0.5" to the standard 42" back (now 26" instead of 25" on the 40") and sleeve lengths, and am now so much happier with...

    Aero Premier 1930s Highwayman

Helpful pics, Craig. On a similar vein, I got my premier 20s Work Coat today and it's certainly slim compared to my Stockman or Teamster. I'll stick up fit pics tomorrow.

New (to me) Alexander Leathers Half Belt - your thoughts?

Its a neat fit and the sleeve length is fine. I reckon wearing higher rise jeans would make it look a bit better, as although the length is on the OK side of short, the jeans make it look shorter than it probably is.

Anyone like the Alexander Leathers Gatsby?

Hi repo, that was probably my post. My wife and I have bought 5 bags from him in the last year and are very impressed. We were at his workshop a couple of weeks ago and he made a mod to my satchel while we waited. The funny thing is that I recently found a women's shop here in Edinburgh that...

    Lawless Denim

I'd be surprised if they can keep to the 6-8 weeks turnaround, as they must have been swamped with the 50% offer. I also hope they can combine two or more items in shipping, so us overseas guys save a little on fees. They seem more helpful and amenable than Gustin, so here's hoping.
