    Better than DILLINGER overcoat?

By the way, the big bucks public enemies-advertised overcoat I purchased a couple of months ago is truly a sight to behold! The material is so luxurious, I am greatly looking forward to the weather dropping here... aaaany day now... :D

    Better than DILLINGER overcoat?

Certainly valid. But I don't really know any women that swoon over beltbacks, just guys that covet them. Please introduce me to who you know! :p

    Better than DILLINGER overcoat?

It's a beaut! And what a steal! I would love to know why overcoats on average often don't go for so much money. Speaking as a NY'er, there's a smaller window of opportunity to leave the house in a vintage wool suit without an overcoat. (Although today's weather was a great occasion to do...

    Show Us Your OVERCOATS

Not mine, but documenting it none the less... I love this, even if it could belong to Wolverine!

    What are you wearing today??

Thank you everyone for the compliments & critiques! You really think the arms are too long? It was not eye catching to me, but I suppose I could have them taken up. Marc - it slipped my mind to take a picture of the tag... Frank LeBow created the suit at 303-04 Pence Bldg. Minneapolis...

    30's~40's Work Boots

Well, I started with a single leather sole which I worn through surprisingly fast. It took under a year to wind up with a hole being worn near the ball of my foot! So I sent them to Eddie's Shoe Repair near Los Angeles who put Cat's Paw soles and heels on them. So it's kind of a win-win...

    Photoplays!

Here's what things looked like a few decades later. Personally, cheap by comparison. Le sigh... But backing up, I've saved the best for last. This is the photoplay for King Vidor's the Champ: And these are the handmade 1932 internal instructions on how to produce the photoplay for a...

    Photoplays!

In support of the Roubin Mamoulian masterpiece... I really dig the artwork... Lon Chaney, Sr's first major (lost) film... Does it get any better than this? The 1925 Lost World! Oh right! The 1916 version of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea!

    Photoplays!

I've been very interested in the writer Tiffany Thayer recently. This is a first (only) pressing of his 1934 book Dr. Arnoldi, about a world where no one can die. Literally the ocean fills up with human beings wishing to shuffle off this plane but to no avail. It's out of control. Frank...

    Photoplays!

Tell it to the Marines w/Lon Chaney, Sr. is one of the strangest photoplays I have... Here's a repro of the stage play version of the Dracula photoplay... Compared to the film version... The stage play version contains no stills or illustrations. The film version does. Call Her Savage...

Is there a good vers of King Solomon's Mines?

I've recently watched the British 1937 version and I think it actually captures the spirit of the story & presents Quatermain & Co much more accurately! Just look past the singing, and the Brits have done Haggard just fine! The story is obviously jumbled and pushed into place to add romance...

    What are you wearing today??

Thanks! I'm absolutely thrilled with it! I got it for only $75 - it was riddled with holes that I had to have mended. I hoped that the fabric would be forgiving as it was dense and busy... I was right the mended holes barely read at all! I am on the fence if it is a touch too big on me...

    WILD ORANGES (1924)

:p No, not anymore. All of that stuff came here. But I had some huge posters: an early 50's theatrical rerelease three sheet poster for Peter Lorre's Face Behind the Mask, and two 1960's French theatrical reissue one panels for Son of Frankenstein & Island of Lost Souls - all of which are...
