A most enviable suit, mike.

Thanks! I'm absolutely thrilled with it! I got it for only $75 - it was riddled with holes that I had to have mended. I hoped that the fabric would be forgiving as it was dense and busy... I was right the mended holes barely read at all! I am on the fence if it is a touch too big on me.... but something tells me time is relative and one day, I will fit into it just fine lol

EDIT: actually, as the arms are an inch too long for you, I think you should sell me that suit.

Sproily are those your 1930s boots (with the French toes) you are desporting?

Yes indeed, I had to break them in a little when I still had the chance. Those leather soles don't really like snow and there's not much around yet!

And yeah they are the equivalent of gators, spats.

Mike, that has to be the most beautiful suit I have ever laid my eyes on. :eusa_clap: It's simply perfection, and on you it looks even better. Hooray!

From the other day...

1940 dated blue and black herringbone suit which is back belted w/pleats. Pocket flap on chest pocket matches hip pocket flaps reminds me of Clark Gable's It Happened One Night suit!!!

Also wearing a vintage Dobbs fedora, green vintage unlined tie, Magnoli shirt, and AE spectators.

:eusa_clap :eusa_clap :eusa_clap FANTASTIC ensemble and the bowler too Torpedo- one of your best looks yet! Tell us about the suit and vest, are they new or vintage??

Torpedo said:
Yesterday I pieced together an outfit intended to complement, specifically, the style of hat I wanted to wear, namely a bowler. I feel like a bowler is an style that needs a little more planification to pull it off, at least for me. I think the ensemble evocates a different vintage vibe (more set-back, I would say) that suits such an admittedly old-fashioned kind of hat.

Excellent laid back look. Something I can't achieve.

I don't really like denim but you really have made it work. Looks very good and doesn't have that appeal to it that usually bothers me with jeans. :eusa_clap :eusa_clap

Thanks sproily! I'm curious what you mean by "that appeal'.. don't really care for contemporary jeans-styles myself..

Yes I mean contemporary jeans and their styles.

Since jeans are the only type of trousers one can see nowadays, I have decided not to use them.

I don't really like them too much anyway. And the certainly don't fit my style!

To me they generally just simply feel too run of the mill and.. as a con for me personally... fashionable lol

Since I've stopped using them I've found a wonderful world of slacks and warm woolen pants.

They're stylish, more comfortable and besides the fact that they need dry cleaning, more versatile.

But as I said, you made them work. This must be one of the only occasions I've actually liked the look of jeans. Congrats! :eusa_clap
