In alphabetical order, not in order ultimate quality:
Aero (own 3 currently, have one more I'm finalizing an order for, have owned 6 in total)
Eastman (own 1, have owned 2)
Himel (own 1)
Thedi (full disclosure - don't own one yet, but that's going to change shortly)
Vanson (own 3, 1 leather, 2...
Wow. That looks so good. I really like what Thedi is doing these days - from patterns to hide selection. Just so damn nice. And not like what other makers are doing - well thought out and original, yet still relatively classic in styling.
Did I say wow?
Yes, Carrie sent me a pic of the thread - the gold is on the top, rust is on the bottom. The knits are caramel, just to provide some context for the colors.
I should also add that this is for a Type 3 trucker. So LOTS of stitching.
I need to pick a thread color for a new jacket. The leather is dark brown (the battered steerhide), and I'm considering contrast stitching. Was going to go with cream, but that might be too much contrast.
Carrie @ Thurston said they have a gold thread, but they haven't seen it done on a...
You know, some good things came out of Lauder's thievery, at least from a customer's perspective. Calder came back to Aero, worked with his team to expand the range of styles Aero offers, added some leather choices, and sped up production, all while improving quality. Hats off to Calder...

Finalizing an order for a Type 3, and I'm struggling with leather choice. I have it narrowed down to 3 hides:
1. Battered tan HH. Love the color variation. A bit worried the color won't be that versatile, and that it is too "busy" for a Type 3 since the style already has a lot going on.
2...
If this tells you anything - I sold my walnut ELMC to ProteinNerd, and just bought the exact same jacket in black. I only let the Walnut go because the fit in the sleeves was just a little off for me. Eastman is first rate. The leather they use on the Californian is just the perfect weight...
Blue label -- my guess is right where Sloan is guessing. Between 300 and 400 GBP. Pretty damn good.
Non-blue label stuff - I'm guessing 20% higher or so. Also pretty damn good.
For those of us in the US though, the timing stinks -- Sloan and the other Euro bastards around here are going...
You look as happy as Ralphie in that thing.
I forwarded the listing to a female friend of mine. She'll probably buy it and use her sewing skills to make it crotchless. Yes, she's all kinds of crazy. No, you cannot have her number.
