Until you’ve put a higher end denim jacket on, you haven’t seen what you’re missing.
Some folks love vintage, inexpensive jackets. I get it. Personally, I love jackets that fit me well, that break in and gain tons of character, and that make me feel good. And, in my mind at least, make me...
Personally, I'd stick with the stock back pattern on the Wayfarer - the pattern has a wonderfully interesting front, and I would be concerned that the jacket would get a bit too busy with a busy back. Or, perhaps a single point yoke in the back, rather than the stock curved pattern? That...
Couldn't agree more. The IH stuff is next level, and even though the listed measurements seem a bit long to me in body and sleeve, it has worked out great for me. My overdye 14 oz from IH spec'd at 25.9" in the sleeve...I never take more than a 24.75 or 25. But its fits absolutely perfectly...
Yes, contact them through the site. I've interacted with Adam a bunch recently, and he is very helpful, but I think all the IH people are customer-service oriented. I just received a 526J-142od, and the fit is perfect -- but here's the backstory:
The jacket I ultimately got is a 14 ounce...
Up for grabs is a new with tags Schott Varsity Jacket. Size 38. This is a Made in the USA model.
24 ounce melton wool body in olive with black cowhide sleeves. Superb trim fit. Measurements:
p2p: 21.6
Sleeve: 25.5" shoulder seam to end of knit cuff
Back length: 26" from collar seam to...
I’ll be brief. And probably a bit harsh. I’ve had four different Schott jackets. Still own one.
Middle of the road for their leather quality for the most part. Mostly underwhelming. But I’ve seen some real gems.
Fit on a bunch of their stuff is not good if you have an athletic body type...
Have you contacted Vanson to see if they'll make one for you? I've had them do custom jackets for me - they just charge you a custom fee (15 or 20 % if my memory serves).
Was just informed that my Aero Type 557xx has arrived in the US and is on its way to me. Battered steerhide with gold stitching. I've never seen that combo before, so I'm curious how it turned out. 3 months waiting ... ugh. Will post pics when it arrives...
She sounds crazy. Which means she was probably hot. If you haven't seen it, this is a must watch (this guy should have won the Nobel Prize - seriously):
HD - looks fantastic. I think the flare at the bottom will settle down with wear. Even as is, I think it looks good.
Congrats, and wear it in good health.
Looks good. The cordo color will mellow as it gets worn in, yet retain a richness to it. Do the typical needed work to get the collar to your liking - molding, maybe some HWT - and wear the piss out of the jacket. As it molds to you, it will really look good since you’re starting with a...
Honestly, for what it is, the Detroit is hard to beat for the price. I've had similar jackets that I liked a little more, but they cost 4 or 5 times as much. Just get the Detroit.
