Yeah, I may have forgotten to say: I changed the back to a one-piece on Will's suggestion to minimise "waisting", but I agree the false half-belt is cool. Not a big fan of the byswing back.
Blethook, I've worn it in early winter but I wouldn't wear it any later than that, unless you asked for a wool lining (I don't see why not). I've been wearing mine for a little over a year and it now fits to my body beautifully. I see it as a versatile two-three season jacket. One thing to note...
Blethook, I have a Stuart. Great Jacket, and I have posted pics here at the FL before, but they have expired. I will try to remember to repost them. If I happen to forget, feel free to PM me.
Thanks, guys, for the solid advice. I'm also trying to track down this jacket, the ANJ3, here modelled by one JanSolo. I believe Aero at least used to sell one but I can't find it on the site now.
Fellas, I've been buying Aero jackets for years now but have always steered away from their military jackets: I guess I just found them a bit too "dad-looking", for want of a better term. Anyway, whether it's my age (38) or just my all-round Aero addiction, I am now strongly drawn to an A-2 -...
Thanks, Jan. The longer halfbelt, presumably? I'm after a slim-fitting, buttoned longer Aero and am not quite sure how to go about it. I don't want any extra horse on one of those big babies! Sir J
I hadn't seen the model before it appeared on the new Aero website but I must say I rather like it as an example of a longer Aero jacket for winter. Horsehide can be so heavy that I, ahem, shy away from the bulky longer models. I think if I added a Teamster to my collection, though, I would...
Loungers, after a long wait (ordered in November last year) my Aero 50s HB (pic here) has arrived. It's a beautiful piece of craftsmanship, as Aeros with rare exception reliably are, but I'm wondering whether anyone thinks it's too short: I in fact ordered it one inch longer and I'm not sure...
You make a very strong argument, Peacoat. The other question then becomes, what colour mouton with the brown? I would argue the rust is the most stylish.
Thanks for the suggestion, Trout.
Regarding the wait: really? Is it taking longer than the standard six to eight weeks?
Trouble is, I already have a cordovan Stuart. A man needs a black leather jacket, doesn't he?
Sir J
Fellows, I am close to ordering a slightly modified Aero halfbelt with mouton collar for winter - or at least I would be if I could decide upon whether I should get it in brown or black. A simple question, I know, but not so easy to answer. Indeed, it is incapacitating me. I lean slightly...
I have just received three mouton samples from Aero (very prompt, I might add). They are mid-brown, rust and dark brown. They are all very beautiful and feel even softer than I expected. I would happily order one jacket with each collar, but I can't. For me, I feel the "rust" could be a little...
